I do tend to have NFEs low on my list (as do a lot of other people), but my list does have at least a couple of NFEs outside of the bottom half. I even have 2 NFEs in my top 10.

Yes, Gen 7 was pretty bad in terms of speed. I actually mentioned this in my write-up for Ribombee.

I doubt anyone could, unless they're heavily into the competitive side and might somehow know this for a few mons.

Wooloo woulda been third but Dubwool is unfortunately a regression to mid-tier.

I think a lot of the lists probably had Wooloo higher than Dubwool as well. I fully expect Dubwool to finish well below Wooloo.

Maybe this NFUN write-up was the reason Nick had Milcery so high on his list that didn't count because he posted it as an image. Nick probably thought it resembled cum as well and ranked it high for that reason.

I have to be pretty near the top of outliers so far given that I only ranked two of these things low lol

So far, I've ranked 2 of these very high, 1 of them around the middle of my list, and 3 near the bottom.

Why would Calyrex be in last place? Because it was locked behind DLC? I don't think it looks particularly bad or anything.

If anything, Spectrier and Glastrier - Glastrier especially - look pretty boring without Calyrex riding them.

I like both horses, because horses are cool animals. Spectrier will definitely rank higher than Glastrier in the final results for sure.

Regular Calyrex is also very terrible competitively. The fusion forms are much better competitively.

No way that's happening. We've never had a legendary finishing last place in any of the previous Gen ranking projects.

I have now sent my list. I didn't do write-ups for all 96 Pokemon, as I found out how hard it was to do that for the Gen VII Pokemon. In the end, I did write-ups for exactly half of this generation's Pokemon (48 write-ups).

When Steiner does start posting results, the type rankings for each Pokemon should account for the case of Urshifu having a Fighting/Dark and Fighting/Water form when calculating each's Pokemon ranking within their respective typing. So Urshifu would count towards 3 different types.

I would not take it for granted that Pokemon is #4 or better. The conversation and general mood among that fanbase around newer games, the franchise in general, and its developer has soured horribly since Sword and Shield came out and the average gamefaqser still doesn't care deeply about anything besides the first two games. I'd give Smash a shot at the upset.

Pokemon is in a weird position when it comes to a potential Series Contest happening again. It is known that there are 3 different groups of Pokemon fans on this site, an idea I talked about when debating the ability of HGSS to act as a proxy for GSC in the GOTD2 contest, but this is also relevant for Pokemon's strength in a Series Contest. These were the 3 groups of fans I had identified:

The hardcore fans - They'll play every mainline Pokemon game out there. This group makes up around 30% of the site. They might be less likely to vote for Pokemon in a Series Contest being fully aware that the series has gone downhill in quality.

The more casual fans - They still play modern Pokemon games, but may skip some mainline games if they don't like some of the game's flaws. These fans may also have a more negative view of the modern Pokemon games (and Game Freak in general) compared to the hardcore fans. This is easily the smallest group of fans, making up an estimated 15% of the site. They are more likely than the hardcore fans to vote for Pokemon in a Series Contest, but may still have enough exposure to the later games to factor that into their decision to not vote for Pokemon (depending on the match-up).

The former fans who quit the series - Most of these fans quit the series after Gen 1 or Gen 2, but some of them may have quit at some point after a later generation. This group makes up an estimated 35% of the site. They should be more likely to vote for Pokemon in a Series Contest because their vote won't be affected by the lackluster quality of the modern games. Their vote would likely reflect their nostalgia for RBY and/or GSC, games that are much stronger than anything that came after GSC.

And then there's the estimated 15-20% of the site that has never played a Pokemon game, but those voting for Pokemon would be out of apathy for either series in a potential match-up. They won't be voting against Pokemon because of the quality of the later games.

was FF16 a bit hit? I'm not as into the gaming scene as I was when 15 came out but I remember that game was big in the cultural zeitgeist. I saw a lot of people talking about it and despite not playing it myself I know all of the playable character's names

FFXVI has an 87 Metacritic score, compared to FFXV with an 81 Metacritic score. So yeah, it fared better than FFXV in at least one area.

I wonder how close Zelda gets to Mario today.

Zelda did beat Mario in 2018, but that was fresh off the heels of BotW. And the match was close enough that Mario could swing that match back in his favor now that BotW has aged another 5 years since the last contest. TotK was released earlier this year, but I don't expect that game to help Zelda as much as BotW did (and TotK is probably weaker than BotW).

Breath of the Wild was also on the Wii U too, even though it was rather pointless to do so because of how poorly the Wii U sold.

We shouldn't include the regional evolutions in a Save My contest for the Galarian forms because the regional evolutions are brand new original Pokemon with their own Pokedex number. Just focus on the Galarian forms instead.
