The Cranberries are an incredible group with amazing favorites like "Dreams" and "Zombie." Linger is in third-place of their hit six-letter songs. I love the chorus and it's amazing found in the wild like a shuffled playlist or a radio station, but repeated deliberate listens take the shine off.

I never expected it to reach this high. Hell, it could be top ten if not for nostalgia with other songs. The dance beat is iconic, there's silliness like how D.A.R.E. it is or the "bow bow, bo bow bow bow" 'base' line, and I love the credit for Loleatta Holloway's sample & her inclusion in the later music video. The music video is incredible as well.

Stunt's one of those albums I played alllll the time so its songs are burned into my brain. "One Week," "Alcohol," "Call and Answer," "Never is Enough," "I'll Be That Girl," "It's All Been Done," and "Light Up My Room" will be songs they could play when I'm ninety-years-old with dementia that work to connect some synapses back together. I don't know why, but "Some Fantastic" is my go-to favorite. I love to sing to it, I love imagining the over-the-top attempts to rekindle their relationship, the lost and soul-open chorus. It hits me with nostalgia everytime for whatever I missed out on the best of, like an observation globe imagining memories and peoples past, wandering over a scene before flying back up into the clouds with a bye-bye.

And now in order to keep the topic moving, I'm going to take advantage of the "all rankings are placeholders" clause. The next several drops aren't going to be numbered because I'm hitting some terrible decision paralysis. I'm going to start listening to everything with less than 58 points and then either:

A: Give them somewhere between 56.16 to 57.99 points and eliminate them immediately.

B: Give them a placeholder value of 58 points, placing them in the "58 Nebula", a separate mini-tier for everything that I don't want to cut early on in this tier but don't actually want to move all the way to the next tier just yet. (These songs will be revisited after everything below the 58 Nebula have been culled to get actual scores)

C: Stop being stubborn and accept that some of these songs aren't even going to be cut during the 58 Nebula, skipping them up to the next tier.

Don't know how many songs will be culled before we hit 58, but ranking placements will officially be ??? until this phase of culling is complete. It's very "I know these songs are being cut in some order, but I won't know what that order is until it's finished". Such is the peril of doing the ranking completely live like this.

Also, I wish Cerebro's X-Men lasted more than two issues. X-Men #80 & #360 were some of my favorite issues, but characters like Grey King, Xaos, Crux, Rapture, Mercury, and Landslide were awesome. They don't really exist so I wouldn't nominate them.

I love the Rocky movies. I've seen them all except Creed II, and can't help watching them if they happen to be on cable, especially IV. The score of the original has some of the most iconic movie music ever, especially "Gonna Fly Now" that plays during the training montage. "Going the Distance" plays through Rocky's fight against Apollo and elevates the highs and lows of their 15 round bout. It is just so rich. I love love love the swells of elation and heavenly choir boosting spirits. Also, that trumpet barrage before that shift~

It's an absolutely gorgeous theme, and the fact that notorious soundtrack originalist KaiserNeko commissioned a version of this track for the requisite Buu Bit is a testament to how amazing and iconic this track is.

It does lose something without Sean Schemmel's insane screaming complimenting the giant swell of electric glory, and it didn't hit as ear-piercingly hard as I remembered it. I tried multiple platforms and earpieces, but nothing was lost in translation. It's not number three, but it is easily top fifteen of what I've wanted others to rank.

Note: One of the coolest town themes ever.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends is an all-time top five game. It's been there since 2003 and hasn't left in twenty years. The characters, setting, plot, strategy, discovery, base building, ship battles, art style and color palette, and sight-seeing are all huge and important reasons why it's up there, but its the soundtrack above all that keeps it so high. Battle themes, deserts, cityscapes, Eastern regions, sailing themes... the soundtrack is one of the best Sega has put out. "Kingdom of Ixa'taka" is easily my favorite track in the game. There such a joyful hidden tribe feel to it. It is welcoming, celebratory, familial yet wild with huge nature feels. It's not only a region I look most forward to reaching when I start up the game, but also such a welcome relief after the hellish tornado valley full of constant strong monster and looper battles that you can finally rest and relax. "Kingdom of Ixa'taka" is pure respite.

The first three songs I've listened to today (twice each already, haven't even touched fourth song) is already frustrating me.

Some Fantastic is a bop, full of personal memory and emotion, and I sing along the entire song. It has greater love than Going the Distance.

Going the Distance is an insanely dramatic score full of trial and perseverance. It is a gauntlet of percussions and trumpets through to the end and it is glorious. It is greater hype than SSJ3 Ascension.

SSJ3 Ascension is instant nostalgic grandiose sky-soaring celebration and awe. It hits those feels deep inside. It has more tingles than Some Fantastic.

A > B > C > A

Today is gonna be long and fun.

Yes. It's complicated with how the St. Croixs powers interact with each other, but Penance is the ruby-red girl with sharp hair and fingers in Generation X while M is the super confident intelligent powerful flying cool person. Except Penance is really a trapped Monet St. Croix, and M is Monet's two missing younger twin sisters in one body. And at one point M becomes M-Plate, and... it's all confusing, and I don't fully understand, and their everything needs a fully dedicated Jay & Miles episode on them.

Exclusively because of Krakoa Era (which also goes for Greycrow, Nanny, Gorgon, and Orphan Maker). Exodus has actually been pretty excellent even though I dont know anything about him prior to the Krakoan Era or even understood his character during the msjority of the run, but he's been pretty great to read the past year or so.
