X's story was the weakest part of the game and completely back-loaded (plus cliff-hanger 'twist') and 2 and 3 just can't leave things alone and are compelled to create some Kingdom Hearts tiered story-telling involving constant use and re-use of characters (and copies of characters) that had complete arcs. Second playthrough I went for the 'golden ending' and just put it on easy for battles I had done before. I liked the (mostly) grounded storytelling a lot and I preferred the realistic tone of the regular ending more than the golden route. Would recommend to someone who likes tactics and political intrigue but not to someone who doesn't, as it will not change any minds about the genres. --- move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. MoM really got me into the game and the songs that stood out to me the most in it weren't even my favorite/most memorable songs in the KH games, just random high energy stuff that was engrossing to git gud at with that much more energetic presentation. Combat is good and rewards experimentation throughout the game. Stories/characters vary from meh to good. Wrap up at the end is cool and subtle but handled terribly for the player to actually accomplish (both to discover and to actually surmount) without a guide. I enjoyed it and look forward to OT II hopefully fixing a lot of the (easily fixable) problems the first had. Don't worry if you feel flooded with info, you can let most of it pass by and have fun hitting big monsters with big weapons as much as you want. Almost all the fluff you can do in between hunts and even the customization of your felynes and canynes can be completely ignored. obviously you won't be operating at full efficiency, but if you are like me and just want to pick up and play the core of the gameplay, its no problem that can't be fixed by learning your weapon and monsters. --- move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines.
