Am I ever glad I never watched past episode 1 of that shitty anime.

BOFURI continues to the sleeper action hit of the season, hidden in the Moe MMO coating.

Some very impressive mid shot transitions between hand drawn and CG character models in that mid episode fight, without even using some kind of effect/wipe/transition to cover it, as the character moves fromm the background to the foreground on screen.

Also just some real fun and inventive stuff in the fights in general.

I was literally shocked at how soul suckingly boring the story mode stuff in that KLKif demo was. The combat seemed whatever, but the story cutscenes were otherworldly in the dullness of their presentation.

KLK still a great show.

Not really sure how anyone can call that game pretty good unless you're standards are literally bottom of the barrel because you've excepted that it will never get better.

No way man, that game blows. It's an even more dumbed down and simplified combat system from most of the behind the back DB games with pointless RPG mechanics tacked on, and an empty open world exploration system with total shit repetive sidequests where you just fly around collecting orbs all day. Nothing about that game is engaging or fun at all.

Don't let absolutely crazy people like Shine trick you into thinking that game has value. It's the same trash as always. NOTHING about that game deserves any extra praise than any other random jump anime shovelware except they decided to put a bunch of marketing behind it, it's the same low effort dump as always.

I would straight up rather play Jump Force, and that game is TERRIBLE.

Yeah I realize the chances of me getting what I want are really low.

I can hope though.

The more likely think would be some video game or something, and considering the last few major Jump games that got "big pushes" were total stinkers like Kakarot and Jump Force, and Jump likes to pretend those games were totally fine and absolutely what people wanted, that would be the least hype imaginable.

I guess a straight up whole new series would be cool, but there's SO MUCH Bleach marketing around the announcement that I just don't see it.

Everything after Soul Society is subject to incredible pacing issues, not to mentions the absurd amount of filler, many of which they canonized in the anime and forced into places it wasn't supposed to be in.

Even Soul Society was victim to some slow pacing that could use some tightening up.

No doubt. People give him shit for what it devolved into in regards to backgrounds and layouts, but again, all signs point to that just being fatigue because he was forced to do so many things he didn't want to in that story.

Id love to see Bleach come back even just to animate the rest of the manga. They can cut the trash tier ending out though.

I would not want this, because I don't think that ending or last chunk is what he even wanted. Remember, he was suddenly forced to end it in 3 chapters.

I would MUCH rather them start from scratch, Brotherhood style, get some real good pacing in there without the threat of catching up to the manga, filler free. Most importantly, Studio Pierrot nowhere in sight. Pretty much anything post Soul Society I truly beleive is completely subject to change.

Kubo's name is all over these news stories, so I have some faith that this will be meaningful, whatever it ends up being, even if all this is a pipe dream.

I guess the concept of a Bleach redo anime led by him is just tol strong. Every shit thing about where that series went was him being fed up with his editors forcing him to do stuff and having the passion for it driven out of it from him as a result.

That's the second time in a row that Bofuri ends it's episode on a big exciting well animated fight scene. It's like it becomes a whole different show altogether, switching from moe MMO travels to fast paced action series on the fly. It's wild.

Smile Down the Runway is absolutely the most exciting show to watch this season, my god. I've seen a lot of shows come out of nowhere, but this is next level.

I'm really, really liking this fight in Demon Slayer right now.

It's so rare for a shounen manga to get in the fight of a huge chunk of the cast all fighting the big bad together at the same time, and it actually mattering and feeling meaningful. It's always "this is just a fight to show off how strong this dude is, look how he can take everyone", and yeah its TECHNICALLY still that, but it's doing a real good job of making it feel like they have a chance and are pushing back at him, and that they may actually win. Combined with 100% real stakes where several characters have actually died and will stay dead, and anyone could easily die next no matter how popular, and it's shaping up to be something real special. I have little doubt that, assuming they do win, Tanjiro will be the one coming in to deal the final blow, but I can't see a world where he just comes in to super saiyan this shit.

Rewatched the first Asobi Asobase episode on a whim and CHRIST this show was a goldmine.

2 episodes in, and Smile Down the Runway is WILD. It's doing pretty much everything right. The pacing is excellent, and every time it's about to go down some tired trope, it says fuck that and pushes on ahead.

This is one of those shows some people are going to ignore because of the concept, and I hope nobody here makes that mistake! What an unexpected delight.

WOW I was not expecting that fight at the end of Bofuri episode 2. There was some weird CG for a moment here or there, but they kinda went for it.

In a brief respite from Netflix' crusade to kill anime, looks like we've got another actual Netflix original coming up soon, and not a pretend one.
