The only thing I would recommend you doing is before progressing too far in MSQ is the void quests, which are just a small epilogue to the role quests once you do all four. I think you want to do those before 5.3 (don't remember the exact point) so you get a small bonus interaction, but otherwise just do all the content as you get to it.

I would recommend not doing all the Hildibrand quests at once - I like them but I could see them being very grating if it's all you're doing for hours. They're just little shitpost quests, no need to save them all for post Endwalker or whatever you're planning.

The "issue" with starting Brotherhood first (it's still fine if you did) is that the show already assumes you watched the original, so it introduces a ton of the main cast in the first episode and blitzes through the parts of the story covered by the 2003 anime. I would say overall Brotherhood is better (sans the OST, which I prefer the 2003 anime for) but I don't see how anyone would argue that 2003 doesn't cover the initial arcs better. And technically all you would need to watch from the 2003 anime is like some of the first 12 episodes IIRC (I say some because they did throw in some early filler for world-building purposes). It's not a big issue, but it's definitely noticeable if you're familiar the series before Brotherhood.

And still a lot more in manga/LN

There's even one with the MC's "cheat" is just that he won a 400 million yen lottery, and he bought many items to improve the other world like Tractors, generators, etc. Also as staple, real world items has boost effects on the other world's residents like an energy drink is a stat boost item.
Out of the ones you listed, I've only seen Gate, and I wouldn't consider it an isekai really, at least in spirit.

I think the isekai term means something different depending on each person. Some wouldn't say virtual reality stories like SAO aren't isekai because it's a simulation, but I would think those count if they can't leave. I don't think time travel stories count, but I can't really explain beyond they feel like their own thing.

Do you guys consider Disney annual pass holders to be Disney adults? In SoCal I feel like it's not out of the ordinary to have one, but that one post about people from out of state flying to Disneyland 6 times a year seems excessive.

I always considered Disney adults to be people that uproot their entire lives for Disney-related reasons, like that one couple that sold all their belongings to stay at a Disney resort for 2 years. Or at least spend a significant amount of their paycheck on Disney memorabilia.

Part of the isekai setting is that you're trapped in another world. Harry can go back during holidays, he just hates his muggle family. If you can go back and forth easily, it's not an isekai.

On a similar note, Digimon Adventure would be an isekai, but Adventure 02 isn't because they're usually in the human world anyways in between missions.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I think III had my favorite fight, just because Rocky sort of had actual footwork and you got to see the entire match. I know it's a running joke in the community, but the fact that Rocky refuses to block in II kind of took me out of the fight for that one. I was more forgiving of it in I because he lost anyways.

I don't know, I think I like that V tried to emulate the feeling of the first two. There's a somber tone to the first two that I really appreciated. That and I feel like Rocky got a bit too smart in III and IV. In V he kinda goes back to muttering to no one in particular about nothing of importance, and I liked that about him. I wouldn't say Tommy Gunn was my favorite antagonist, but I didn't dislike him or anything.

My main reason II isn't as high for me is that the fight was less believable and a lot of what it exceled at, the first one had done already. Might need to watch it again though.

I mean, the ranking system is just a feature of Platinum games, and character-action games in general. They even save your best rank, so if youre trying to pure platinum a level, you dont have to do perfect on every fight in one go.

Sorry, my advice was geared towards Master Duel. For the actual trading cards, I would honestly still try out first on an online simulator before shelling out money for a deck you might not end up liking. But if youre building cheaper decks anyways, it isnt a big deal.

One thing Yugioh has over Magic (unless youre a collector I guess) is that cards are reprinted more often, so cards tend to drop in value as they get older, so it gets cheaper over time as long as you arent trying to build meta decks.

Not really. As a tank main, besides learning to pull properly (which is pretty easy anyways), tanks are just DPS with easier rotations and 5 times the health.

Depends on the type of event. For example, I occasionally go to a board game event hosted by a church group. For the 5-hour event theres a brief 10-minute sermon in the middle, which I dont particularly mind. Id probably do the same thing for a food event. It helps that its not interactive so I dont have to actively participate.

If the church part was the main point I definitely wouldnt go to the event. Same if I knew the people there were gonna be obnoxious about it, but I guess you cant really know that for sure unless you check it out.

If we're giving out Master Duel tips, fight off the urge to immediately make a Dark Magician or other anime deck. You don't have to make a meta deck, but the problem with Dark Magician and Blue Eyes to some extent is that not only are almost all the cards SRs and URs, but the decks aren't particularly good. If you're adamant on building a jank deck, by all means, feel free. It's just that using tons of resources on relatively weak decks is gonna make it harder to build new decks faster.

Also this, it's hard to go wrong with crafting staple cards that go in every deck.

Because we specifically bred dogs to be the ideal companion animal for all sorts of tasks, including being responsive to our own emotions.

Saying you hate dogs is like saying you hate kitchens. Why would you hate something that excels at the specific tasks we had in mind for them.

Not saying you have to like dogs, especially if youve had bad experiences with one in the past, but saying you outright hate them does prompt follow-up questions.

The several attempted/interrupted Shadow Clones hand signs is a genuinely cool thing by the animation folks. It's a small touch where the animation and sound design really bring out the moment more than the manga could.
Wish the series had more fights with this. Interrupting hand signs is a unique mechanic to the series that feels under utilized. Same with Sasuke/Obito using their opponents hand to weave signs as a way of preventing the opponent from using two handed jutsu while keeping their own cast time up.

I dont think any Jojos stand abilities were fully realized at the beginning, besides maybe Jolynes and arguably Johnnys stand.

TopicIs Neon Genesis Evangelion normally "hard" to get into?
MorganTJ
03/20/23 4:32:35 PM

Depends on what you mean by hard to get into.

It can be hard to get into for non-anime fans considering how messed up some of the characters are. If NERV had HR, most of the cast would not be employed.

If youve watched a bunch of anime, it can be hard to appreciate what it did for the medium, since youve probably seen shows that took elements from it, so some of the noveltys gone. Gurren Lagann was mentioned as a better alternative, but its an unfair comparison considering TTGL was a response to shows like Eva and its derivatives. TTGL is irreverent in its subject matter, while one of the main lessons from EVA is literally stop watching anime and go outside. The lesson didnt take obviously, considering the fanbase. Eva still has a positive message, its just mopey about it.

It would just be Jolyne, Johnny, and Jodio, wouldn't it? Joseph's from the UK and had just recently moved to America IIRC at the beginning of Part 2. Hence why everyone in the part still refers to him as an Englishman.

If so, Japan also had Jotaro, both Josukes, and Giorno possibly, since all we know is that his mom was Japanese and moved to Italy when she remarried.
