i still think the overall style of letting your guests wander is excellent.

part of the problem is that rogan didn't always do this, even in the pre-covid days. he ripped steven crowder to shreds because he disagreed with his stance on the legalization of weed, for example. when you make steven fucking crowder look like the reasonable one, you know you're doing something wrong.

if your format is "i'm just going to give my guest the floor for 5 hours," fine, but then stick to it. don't throw a hissy fit the moment someone says something you strongly disagree with.

No. This is what the guy's really like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__CvmS6uw7E

If you can't stomach listening to an 8 minute clip, here's my brief summary. Joe yuks it up with his guests talking about a new species of mega-sized chimp that's supposedly been discovered, citing all sorts of "credible evidence." A PhD primatologist calls in to tell him that no such species exists, and he immediately launches into an insulting tirade against the woman, barely allowing her to get in two words edgewise. He ends his rant by mocking her - "I have a vagina!"

I remember another video from years back (probably before he even started a podcast) where a woman argues with him at some event, and he flies off the fucking handle. The guy clearly can't handle being challenged by women - his insecurity is pathetic.

he already makes himself look like an idiot even before the woman calls in tbqh.

"i read a lot and WE'RE FUCKING MONKEYS, MAN!"

Dua Lipa's debut was good but Future Nostalgia is a huge improvement. This is an album filled with instant classics and it justly won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. There are no bad songs to be found here.

I absolutely adore "Levitating", it might be my favorite song of 2020. I love the chord changes and spacey feel of the song. "Cool" perhaps best exemplifies the retro '80s synthpop sound of this album. "Pretty Please" is so funky, it could have been a lost Prince track. "Good in Bed" doesn't make my top 3, but I still think it is a fantastic pop song and I'm not sure why people seem to be really down on it? I hope it's not because we're offended by a young woman singing about sex in 2022 >_>

The only two songs that keep this album from being perfect are "Love Again" and "Boys Will Be Boys". "Love Again" is fine but it doesn't leave much of an impression on me; I thought White Town utilized this sample better. The baroque pop of "Boys Will Be Boys" is uh... kind of a weird choice to end the album on, after all the pop-disco-funk music, and unfortunately, it's not a particularly great baroque pop song. Still, amazing album!

1. Levitating
2. Cool
3. Pretty Please
4. Good in Bed
5. Physical
6. Future Nostalgia
7. Don't Start Now
8. Hallucinate
9. Break My Heart
10. Love Again
11. Boys Will Be Boys

in mando, i kinda lol'ed at how in episode 5 of season 2, ahsoka is like "oh no i can't train grogu mando he's way too attached to you" and then in the finale, luke is like "hey mando i'm taking grogu from you byeee" >_>

i'm fine with grogu not returning in season 3 but the way he left was kinda sloppy.

for what it's worth, i don't really get the heroin hype myself. perhaps it's because i'm a fan of frank zappa, who's done this "using the instruments as a metaphor for the lyrics" thing tons of times in his music, so it's not all that special to me. it's a good song and i get that it's historically significant, but i think the record has plenty of better stuff to offer (hence why i ranked it pretty low).

I like Lou Reeds style and I like the honest brashness of the album, and as someone who has been learning to be a musician it allows me to realize there is more creativity to being a musician than just being really really good at your instrument a la a Hendrix or a Neil Peart. But thats just like my opinion man.

i agree with this. one of the reasons why i put european son (a track that most people in this topic seem to dislike) so high is that it reminded me that technically superior instrumentalists aren't necessarily superior period. i'll take this improvisation over any "technically flawless but boring as poop" yngwie malmsteen guitar solo.

haven't seen the snyder cut but i wouldn't say the original being so bad is whedon's fault. it's mostly WB's fault because after snyder stepped back, they literally thought whedon would be a good replacement for seemingly no other reason than "well, he made a superhero ensemble movie that people liked, right?" even michael bay would have been a better fit.

IMDB scores of previous episodes dropped a little (like E9 dropped from 9.7 to 9.6)

People shouldn't do that. Don't downvote episodes because the finale sucked.

i know next to nothing about dexter but i disagree with this. if the finale of a serial show sucks, this can make the episodes leading up to the finale worse in retrospect. for example, in loki, i like all of the episodes where sophie played a major role less now because i now know the way the loki/sophie romance was executed in the finale was dogshit.
