i have admittedly never seen a single season of big brother but i found rachel to at least be at her most unpleasant in tar31 because the sort of hilarious patheticness of tar20 rachel was missing, replaced by smug and exhausting entitlement

Certainly one of the greatest multi-season character arcs, if you mean who I think you mean.
yeah, whoops, that's what i meant, multi-season is an important word there.

But newbies vs. veterans is always a bad idea, and they picked five really strong, consistent TAR teams to take on five Survivor/BB teams that all had some sort of obvious Achilles heel going in, plus Nicole & Victor.
i am still unsure of where i stand, i think in the cases of micronesia and caramoan it was certainly set up for the guys you love and want to root for (supposedly) to crush the minnows, and it shows
but there is some degree of that kind of being fun, and creating genuine underdogs. i think chris & bret's arc is a lot less enjoyable if they aren't overmatched basically the entire time

174. Tramel & Talicia (Season 3, 11th place)
173. Ryan & Chuck (Season 7, 11th place)

two huge "gone-two-soon"ers, both of these teams could have been greats had they lasted

oh yeah, bergen/kurt are a big dislike for me as well. they exemplify (and perhaps by virtue of the blind-partners season most distinctly) my least favorite trait of any tar team, which is a disconnect of effort. it just absolutely sucks when one person clearly cares about trying and the other person has given up, without any clue of how much they're hurting their partner by not even giving a shit. nick/vicky from tar17 are the other immediate example that comes to mind for me, though i'm sure there's plenty more too

man, this was an ADVENTURE trying to remember who the hell 90% of these teams were

i (thankfully) forgot about keith & whitney in tar; they sucked in south pacific, sucked in race, and would totally fit right into the rachel reilly "irredeemable in every way" tier tbqh

i was totally rooting for blake & paige in the f3 of season 2 when it first aired, and hey, toms shoes are a genuinely good cause, so i have pretty good feelings for that team

and i know you were posting about tar12 rewatch (relatively) recently, but both nate/jen and tk/rachel are surprisingly low to me. tk & rachel were fairly likeable winners, and even if they were generally unexciting across the board, i thought they had a compelling enough arc to place a little higher.
nate & jen fit right into the mold of villians i liked akin to chad/stephanie and abby/ryan earlier, i thought their brand of "villainy" came across as enjoyably bumbling (they were never particularly great racers) and satisfyingly ending (their elimination leg is pretty funny, tbqh)
but god dang, it really has been a long ass time since i've seen tar12! i re-caught the first 7 seasons when they re-aired on gsn back in 2005, and also watched them through again with my mom (who missed out on the early tar) so those are the ones just burned into my brain, lmao

justin/diana is a really difficult one, i couldn't stand him and thought their edit dominating season 27 was a big pox on the season, but...knowing that the whole setup was for him to fail triumphantly makes it hard to place. i totally get anyone who can't stand him though

also:
Idries & Jamil (Season 22, 10th place)
my brain really can't remember these guys at all, aside from some vague idea that i sort of liked them?? curious why they're placed this low, maybe it'll jog my memory

every appearance of rachel would be at the very bottom of my tar team ranking, only ahead of the teams with actual spousal abusers

so on that note your rankings seem pretty dang agreeable, though i generally had no beef with the linzes, and thought both abby/ryan (21) and chad/stephanie (17) were pretty enjoyable villains by the end of their edit

the one thing i can say about the GBC games is that they ran more quickly. combat is sluggish in newer titles for some reason. i also think ruby/sapphire/emerald was a step back for the series in a few regards, which makes GSC feel better in comparison

like most survivor fans, i don't like redemption island or edge of extinction and don't want to see ways for players to get put back into the game after being eliminated

so that said, if it's part of the game in a particular season, i'm not gonna cry if someone happens to utilise that to their advantage - and in chris's case it was genuinely a surprise; he got one of the "better" edits on the edge, but for someone who had been mostly unthought of for ~10 weeks to storm through the finale and win was by far the most unexpected winning scenario in the past 10-20 seasons, and given how much the edit tends to telegraph the winner, i really enjoyed that aspect of it!

while i don't like the kanto-locking of new pokemon, i DO dig that they made so many of them rare/awkward to find, because it made it feel like a much more organic evolution of the previous region, rather than "we never knew of these pokemon before, but now they're everywhere!"

2nd gen just rewards you so much for being willing to wander off the beaten path, and felt like it was just stuffed full of content for a game boy game in 2000.

I've been playing a good amount of SM64 Rando lately, and while the game is still fun, I am mostly annoyed by control issues. Stuff like 'you landed on a slope on your stomach, so you're fucked' and being unable to work certain slopes at all.
with regards to sm64 rando, that'll sometimes ask you to do some awkward slope jumps (and generally places stars) in places where you wouldn't be required to get to normally (i'm looking at you snowman's land)
doesn't quite seem like a fair comparison there imo

avalon/resistance are pretty much the perfect versions of mafia for me; i get that some people like the experience that a huge game of werewolf/mafia brings, but avalon just distills all of that experience into one tight, compact package. the rules are as complicated as they need to be, and there's still all of the moments of brilliance/agony you get in those longer games
