Also said it wasn't a big deal unless the gender roles were swapped, kinda yikes
What I had said is that people don't care because its an older woman with a much younger boy. Our cultures across the world clearly view boys as being capable of handling a man's world from the time they can do any physical labor while the same cultures also view girls as fragile, weak, and "flowers" for as long as possible. (The age of consent laws in Mississippi come to mind).

It is very much a new thing in the past ~15 years that some sects of society have started to protect boy's innocence. Many people from the US come from European descent where we know that for hundreds/thousands of years their societies were set in such a way that:

-Boys were put to work as young as 5, and thus entering their time as a "man".

-Girls worked too, but were more sheltered as "pieces" that could be traded in marriages and then their only expected role was to be a baby factory and mother

It's been thousands of years and the way our lives are lived are relatively unchanged:

-Boys are expected to man up and face the world

-Girls are largely expected to be mothers, caregivers, and have their life basically chosen for them

How does this all play back into today? People don't care about Boys experiencing sexual trauma because their feelings don't matter

People care a lot about what happens to girls because God forbid they're sexually assaulted they're viewed as "dirty/tainted" or "damaged/not valuable".

But even in spite of these general ideas, barely any of the rape kits that are submitted lead to a conviction because people in power are disgusting and wish to protect their world view.

I have no idea who you are or why I would be tagged like that. Only thing I can think of where I would be considered a "rape apologist" would be from a topic months ago where a 32 year old women slept with a 14 year old boy (in the UK) and the jury aquit her of charges because it was impossible to discern ill intent.

Anyways when I was 9 years old I had a friend who was 11, much stronger than me, and he pressured me into kissing him/dry humping me. We remained friends briefly after that day, but I made it clear I didn't want any of that kind of stuff to ever happen again.

I view it as a very embarrassing story and I've never told anyone in real life. Apparently he went on to be really creepy like that with some of the other people we mutually knew. It's not something that I even view as a traumatic experience and I guess with a lot of the things in my life the thing that always bothered me is my lack of a concern factor/lack of being angry that x thing happened to me.

Aren't experiences like that supposed to be something you think about years later and like, break down over? I always tell people I'm well adjusted because "traumatic" experiences never seem to have a lasting effect on me. I'm not jaded towards the world and I believe in the best of the people to this day and I'm a pleasant person to be around( I don't complain very much, keep up a positive energy pretty much at all times)

Anyone who would have insight on this (even if its just armchair psychology) would be....appreciated/interesting.

I know I have

but it wasnt some kind of traumatic experience or anything. It was just a situation where I felt pressured to do it even though I would rather have not

the pressure wasnt even really on the girl either, it was just that societal pressure where I felt thats what we were supposed to do in that particular moment and not doing it would have been an awkward situation
That's not sexual assault or abuse

And then they'll to install an expensive energy storage system (both to buy and also maintain) to be able to continue using electricity when there is little or no solar energy production (might as well go 100% off grid in that case), or else stay on the utility grid for such periods of little or no output in which case if the grid ever loses power, the solar array must be completely isolated from the home's electrical system as it poses a safety hazard to utility crews who expect a completely de-energized grid while repairing it.

In other words, unless the home is completely off-grid, a power outage means that the homeowner is not allowed to benefit from solar energy if electricity from the grid ever goes out, even if there is enough solar energy to power the some or all of the home during the duration of the outage, and therefore we're back to the original issue of homes losing power because the grid is not reliable.
1. They're not expensive to maintain lmfao what in the absolute FUCK are you talking about

2. Solar Systems are connected to a "disconnect" switch that can be operated from the owner's property. Only, this switch effects power going into the home and that's it. The power company will have access to a "disconnect" switch of their own which will shut off power going both ways; from the home of someone, and from the power line to the home. There is no hazard of "the grid being live when they expect it to be dead" if all of their regular safety precautions are followed.

3. No one is suggesting that it's going 100% solar. There is just a very obvious problem that can be fixed if most homes were to adopt solar, as most of their energy needs can be provided year round(with an extreme likelihood to overproduce during spring, summer, and part of fall, which gets sent back to the power company who stores it for later use)

Summer sucks because of my local humidity. At least in winter I can just wear more clothes.
You can't though. The only person who's says this is someone that only spends less than an hour outside in any element at a time.

Theres several quick, efficient ways to recover from heat; shade, plenty of water, running cold water over your hands, an electrolyte boost, having good cardiovascular health, etc. These methods work very well until 110F where theres nothing you can do to keep on good condition. Your body acclimates to heat very well.

In wintertime, plenty of clothes will keep you warm for about 2 1/2 hours. (I frequently work in temperatures between -20F-115F.) But after that, the damage of cold starts to set in. If you sweat in temps below 20F, you're done. You will freeze the rest of the day/night because moisture is your worst enemy. Theres absolutely nothing you can do to keep your hands warm (and for most jobs, you need to be able to use your hands well in order to work). I wear 3 inch thick cotton/nylon gloves in the winter with hand warmers inside. It only allows you to scrape by, your fingers are still so cold you can barely bend them.

Cold, for extended periods, is unbearable at 20F because it is almost always accompanied by 15MPH breezes. When the wind blows, it removes body heat which is why its so hard to stay warm in the winter. Its also the same reason why wind in the summer(though rare) is so relieving.

It doesn't matter how many layers you wear. There isn't an efficient way to keep your face, fingers, and toes warm in the winter. You can do plenty to cool off, but blood running though your body takes a minimum 15 minutes to warm you back up to a healthy, operating temperature

I don't think it's morally sound for that combination of age gap and age difference to date, so yes I'd say unethical. There's no good reason why "wanting to date younger" shouldn't mean 2-3 years instead of six. If both parties were six years older it wouldn't be an issue because the younger party has far more life experience now.
Emotional baggage due to failed relationships, people are in debt, a lot of women who are attractive enough to actually be with already have a child, etc. Use your head.

The only time where it becomes questionable is if the older party is providing to the younger party something they wouldn't be able to get otherwise. In this case the 24 year old providing legally purchased alcohol/Marijuana to supply for their younger, 18 year old partner, especially if this is something that happens very early in the relationship without a significant amount of trust created between the two. Final answer.

So yes, if you're a 24 year old hanging out in a place with a bunch of 18 year olds frequenting the area, and you are specifically looking for an 18 year old, its creepy and questionable.

If you're 24 and happen to run into someone who's 18, but you have chemistry anyways and the premise of your sexual relationship doesn't involve alcohol/Marijuana, its 100% okay but you're still going to receive a ton of dirty looks.

Many young people are more naive and less established than a slightly older person. No matter what, when you head into this kind of relationships you're assuming a position of power over a bright eyed often naive younger person who just has less world experience. This is perfectly fine and normal, but its your ability to recognize this position that is important.

If you're an established, successful person at 24 and just looking for an attractive, younger partner who is less likely to come with drama, that is perfectly normal and valid to desire and as noted by a previous user, people WILL often gatekeep age-based dating in this fact.

Life happens between 18 and 24. You go into debt, most people are unsuccessful, and people just have less time to maintain their appearance. You have emotional baggage and a lot of it. People who have success (however small or large it may be) aren't bad people for pursuing people who just have less drama (18-22). Sometimes people can love you if you're the same age but not want to bail you of your financial debt, be your emotional punching bag, or take care of a kid that isn't theres (something that's becoming REALLY hard to find with women over 23)

Theres a lot of single mothers out there. Theres less single dads (with primary custody). It sucks a lot, but people don't want to take care of your kids. So they look for younger candidate. Sorry
