Very strange, she kept talking about how people were out to get her and literally threw money at me to get me to help her out she even left some in my shower which she put there while it was running. She even offered to sleep with me but I didn't take the bait as she was sketchy, in no real position to consent and was having mood swings. I did keep an eye on her though when doors were open just to make sure she wouldn't steal anything.

Nothing exciting ever happens in my life :(

I actually had a woman high on ecstasy break into my apartment with me in. Crazy woman even took a shower before leaving. I didn't call the cops because I had no clue how she would have reacted to it and thought it best just to keep an eye on her until she left.

It's like pro-life and pro-choice. The left didn't say, "We're anti-life." They said, "We're pro-choice." If the right says they're, "Pro (regressive) America," then the left needs to be "Pro (progressive) America" or "pro something else."

It's like the 2016 election. They thought Trump being the villain would be enough. People had to have four years of that would-be dictator before they reluctantly rallied behind "anyone but Trump." We need a rallying point, we need someone or something to rally behind, rallying against will get people nowhere.

So even if you think that America is dirt and the flag is a piece of cloth, it's still an impractical method of trying to bring about change. Because it's not for anything.

That is my problem with it. When you say "fuck America," which is my takeaway from kneeling in protest of the flag, you say fuck everything that is America. Which means the troops, the people, the personal freedoms, etc. I don't disagree with their desire to raise awareness, but I think they're taking the wrong target.

If one side is anti-American and one side is pro-American, the pro-American side will win. The left needs to be pro-America -- but a better, more inclusive America. Or else they need to be in favor of replacing "America" with something better. Right now, it's almost like a contest between an organized army and a couple of scattered groups of guerilla rebels.

If the left can't rally together and work for a better tomorrow instead of complaining about how much everything sucks, this nation will be fascist within a decade or two. And that's just being real.

Perhaps your takeaway is mischaracterizing what he said, since there was just two words? And perhaps claiming that poster represents ALL of the left is a mistake?

What is gained from the protest? It doesn't generate sympathy or raise awareness. It just gives the right something to be mad about. And when the right gets mad, they get motivated.

It benefits society by showing that the issue is still present/in the focus? Younger minority children/adults see it as part of mainstream presentation? It very much did raise awareness...

The right seemed mad about the halftime show to begin with, how does this change that?

I enjoyed the first one, though I felt the last plot point of using high pitched sounds would have been discovered by others way before the events of the movie. I haven't seen the second, would you guys recommend it?

At the end of the day, the only one of them that is good is the first one. But 2 and to some extend 3 at least serve the purpose of "I like this character, I want more". 4 is a bad unrelated action movie pretending to be a Die Hard movie starring a character it's pretending is John McClane and DH5 is just a bad joke.

Beyond the near invulnerability, in what way did you feel it was somebody pretending to be McClane? Him ending up regretful over the choices of not being a better husband/father showed the character changing over twenty years, especially as he was still a good person that acted went out of his way to "do the right thing". I thought it built off the low point his character was in 3 perfectly (and what 1 addressed with the whole reason for him visiting during Christmas) - sometime you can be a good person and things still don't work out the way you'd want them to.

Can you believe how easy it would have been if Hitler had just listened to Rommel, the greatest genius and also cleanest Wehrmacht officer ever to grace a battlefield? The war would have been over by 1940.

On the other hand if Einstein erased Hitler from the timeline leading to Stalin realizing his dream of unobstructed westward expansion I don't think Rommel's tactics would have been effective

I still like Die Hard 4. Maybe its nostalgia, but I think its a lot of fun.

4 actually had better critic reviews than 2 and 3 I think!

I really liked 4 - I know his character became almost invulnerable action wise but I thought his character developed in an understandable way. It showed that his nature of rushing into danger/taking on the world's problems really did have a cost (marriage and being a father) - one of the few action movies (or series) I could think of that did that. Really liked his small monologue to Farrell..
