First off that is an absurd amount of horses for a Grade I Stakes Race...almost dangerous, TBH.
Only a few of them should really be there.

But ya, the pace setters did their thing, but the closers had it. It is a long race.

And as archizzyalluded to, I am surprised nobody said there was some bobbling at then end.

That was a great race. Sierra Leone and Forever Young were absolutely running down Mystik Dan and in another 10 feet would have easily passed him but that is the way it goes. Having a 3 way finish that close was great.

Despite the result it really feels like Sierra Leone was the best horse. Got caught in the pack earlier and had to slow down, ended up having to go very wide and then was bumping with Forever Young down the stretch only to lose by a nose.

But it is what it is and Mystik Dan did what he had to do to hold on and win when it mattered. Pretty great race.

Boy the favorite Fierceness sure faded. I knew it had dropped but I was so focused on the front 3 I thought it was sitting back at 5 or 6 but had faded all the way to 15. Wow.

...Waiting on the replay. :-(

I watch the triple crown races and any I catch channel surfing. For the triple crown races I watch as many races as I can but don't bet or anything like that.

It's fantastic. They do a really great job.
It is hosted by fox, but it's a NYRA production.

People throw way too many horses into that Race.

I said it once, and I'll say it again.
It's not as much of a race as it is a cavalry charge.

Just based on the horses' names (which is all I know), I'd probably cheer for Epic Ride because it sounds funny, but that horse like like a 40-something-to-1 underdog and probably isn't going to win.

90% of the horses in that race shouldn't be there.
That's why I say, it is an over rated race.
