I will admit it's slightly difficult to gauge in the sense of who is remembering them. People who exclusively watch comic adaptations will definitely champion them.

However, for those who watch a more diverse array, those films get lost very quickly and singular efforts like Fury Road and Social Network for instance resonate much more

Also to elaborate more - episode 3 is the first episode that most people like and then episode 6 is another highpoint for most. If the show doesn't register by then, it's not for you

Additionally - Carrie is much better in this than in Fargo. In Fargo S3 she was really underutilized except the one episode that explicitly followed her. She isn't the only great actor in Leftovers though, the show is full of them

For what's essentially a throwaway or afterthought or whatever you want to refer to it as, LL sure is incredible. Even if the climax is a recycling of ideas, it's beyond thrilling.
