Bocchi the Rock doesn't offer much more than "lol Bocchi" and a creative production. The music/performances are really good, and there are nice moments where Bocchi tries to overcome her anxiety, but they are few and far between, and it's always 2 steps forward 1 step back.

I figured it was supposed to be funny, yeah. I just didn't find any of it funny, that especially. And I can definitely see people losing their minds over the reveal.

What I watched was the first animation, which is the "first" volume of the manga. I'm not going to bother with 0.8, which is the chapter 0 oneshot.

Welp. I finished Burn The Witch this morning. It was...fine, which was better than I expected. I figured that I would hate Balgo, and he would ruin the series for me, but despite being one of the central plot points and the character with the third most screentime, he doesn't have much presence. I could see that changing if the story continues; he reminds me a lot of Yuuichi Tate from My-Hime, whom I do hate, but as of this first volume, he's just whatever. Speaking of, I honestly wasn't impressed by the 2 leads either. Neither Noel's deadpan nor Ninny's brashness did anything for me. Their designs (everyone's designs, really) were great, though. Kubo can design some characters, and other than the main trio + Macy, they kind of just exude cool. It also looks pretty amazing, but movies/ovas tend to look better than even the best seasonals. My eyes nearly rolled out of my head at the final shot, though.

This show actually is Yuri. Like, there's stuff throughout the episode that I assumed was the same bait as usual, but then they just actually just go for it at the end huh??

I'm still a bit confused about Akira being a boy (not narrative wise), but looking absolutely feminine looking even by anime standards. Almost like they were meant to be female at first, then changed to a male character for other reasons. Maybe because Kon and Aya show up later.

I always thought it was because of the narrative and the supernatural circumstances surrounding his race

Really liked Kemono Jihen. Good action, cool use of powers. Kabane and Kon are so precious and really helps to balance out the traumatic stuff.

How is this, by the way? I've ignored it so far but I was kind of curious after reading the premise.

I enjoy it for how awful everyone is, and the MC being so pathetic is kind of refreshing given all the power fantasies that release. That said, I wouldn't call it good, especially production-wise, and especially especially with Wind Breaker also airing. So far, it's a show about a loser losering his way into a not-YouTube "career". Spoilers for episode 3 he ends up "winning" a fight because his opponent injured his hands punching him in the face

Season's about half over, and I'm down to 5 shows. 6 if you count Tadaima, Okaeri, but I'm a couple episodes behind. My biggest issue with it is that the kid annoys me. The omegaverse stuff feels more like set dressing. It mentions type discrimination and male pregnancy, but I haven't seen any yet. I'm not counting Nijiyon S2, either, because it's just Love Live Nijigasaki shorts.

That's down from 14 shows I intended to watch this season. Girls Band Cry was not picked up, and I don't feel like searching for it. I did that for Rinkai and couldn't handle the awful subs. To be fair, Rinkai is just bad all around, especially the race CG. Ooi, Tonbo is apparently on Amazon, so I might look into it.

I dropped Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again after 8 minutes when both the granddaughter and daughter-in-law expressed wanting to have sex with the grandpa. Faster drop was Oblivion Battery - one exclamation of "nipple hair" from one of the MCs was enough for me, and he did it twice. I dropped Wind Breaker, because I bounced off the MC and his constant blushing from basic gratitude. Most recent drop was Train to the End of the World. I hated Akira in episode 4, and the resolution in episode 5 wasn't enough to keep me around.

Still watching Whisper Me a Love Song, Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio, Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, Viral Hit, and Highspeed Etoile, with Etoile being the closest to being cut. It's awful, but...I want it to be good. I'd settle for mediocre, which would just be to go back to the boring races of the first two episodes.

Off-season, I finished the first two seasons of Yuru Camp. I liked it, but not so much that I feel the need to catch up to the current season. It's a comfy show about a camping club, and the vistas are really pretty. The characters range from great to okay, and I think I like it more when less of them are involved. More Nadeshiko and and Rin, less Aoi and Chiaki.

I also finished a rewatch of Akebi's Sailor Uniform. Still really love it. Episode 11 is really heartwarming, and the finale is just beautiful with the "duet"

There's been a lot of overlap with my list in this topic so far, but I'm pretty upset that I seem to be totally alone on Sound Euphonium, it's such a masterpiece. Do people actually disagree or is it just lower viewership here than I realize?

I remember seeing a passionate scene between Kumiko and Reina on YouTube and having my interest piqued. Then I found out Kumiko ends up with her childhood friend and Reina has a crush on their teacher and now I have no desire to watch it.

Only watched 1 episode of Duke and Death and his maid. I really couldn't stand the whole "I'm not touching you" joke, and I couldn't suspend my disbelief concerning how foolish the maid's behavior was given the premise.
