Who is claiming anything you're saying here? Aside from hardcore right-wing nutjobs in Japan I don't think I've ever seen anyone make any of those claims. The only reason anyone who natively speaks English would think Japan is the least bad Axis member is because they killed the fewest white people.

I also went through a phase of thinking Toriyama was overrated and that he just recycled the same four or five designs over and over (which is not entirely untrue) but when you see his stuff on paper its really amazing work. Plus, his most famous designs are so iconic and so ubiquitous and we've all been seeing them for the pas 30+ years so it feels like they're overdone because of that. But no, they definitely don't suck.

Maybe the final numbers will be different but that's what the movie is projecting and its coming out in the US in a few days. Its out in Korea so I could see it tonight if I had any interest but I'm certain its not for me.

There was a box office twitter account that was warning cape-shit fans to unfollow for their mental health because the movie is probably going to bomb horrendously. Its currently projecting to do worse than Black Adam and Flash and those did not do well in any sense.

Congrats on being one of the five people on Earth that enjoyed it. I'm not entirely sure if it is actually a worse movie than the second Ant-man because boy that movie sucks, but Quantumania is very very bad and full of baffling decisions. The take on MODOK (already very stupid) in particular is awful but I guess that's the sort of comic thing that is probably just straight up impossible to not play as a joke in live-action because of how fundamentally idiotic it is.

Definitely horrific but also survivable by a normal human. Even outside of immediate alien danger I'm not sure if the quality of life is that good though.

I'm not a manga reader but it is as far as I know. This arc just doesn't focus on itadori or sukuna.

There is Itadori and Sukuna focused content at some point during the arc but the Shibuya arc wound up being like half the series at the time it was completed so it covers quite a variety of events.

Panda Express is American Chinese food. That's a distinct kind of Chinese/American food. I don't think Taco Bell is exactly trying to be Tex-Mex but its technically just "bad/inauthentic Mexican food" I suppose.

Anyway, I'll always have a soft spot for Panda Express. American Chinese food is not really a thing outside of North America and I occasionally get strong cravings for it. Oddly, I got an Instagram ad for an American Chinese food restaurant this very afternoon so maybe it'll carve out a niche abroad as well.

I personally found the quantum realm so unreal that it lacked in stakes, the Langs may as well have fallen into a Dr Suess book. It's just a fake CGI world with fake CGI characters that doesn't really have a uniting theme other than "isn't this place weird".

Apparently I like the original Ant Man movie more than most people but Wasp and Quantumania are both shit. The first one was a reasonably fun low-stakes origin story for an obscure (for non-comic readers) character and it had a clear goal and fun characters. The other two are just totally bogged down with bridge-movie nonsense and characters that do nothing and go nowhere. All the quantum stuff was just 2nd rate Star Wars and considering how bad Star Wars has been for the past 20 years that's some straight trash right there. Hell, Quantumania wasted a Bill Murray cameo! Fucking Space Jam, a horrendous boring shit pile of a movie, managed to wedge itself into Millennial consciousness for decades almost entirely on a single Bill Murray cameo.

I think the uBlock devs recommend not using other blockers with uBlock as those can interfere and let ads through. And also turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for youtube.

I have a Pi Hole at work and it seems to cause some fluctuations with my uBlock on desktop and my Youtube Revanced on Android. Not major fluctuations or anything but I got two 5 second ads on mobile and it sort of shocked me.

Naruto was very popular among children. Children like things for illogical reasons and adult children don't break that habit just because they're technically adults.

Also, at least its not Boruto. Naruto is what got me into actively watching current anime and I have good memories of it despite it mostly being a confusing mess I barely remember past a certain point but good lord is Boruto just utter dogshit. Its even worse than Super and that shit is the Dragon Ball equivalent of Fifty Shades of Grey.

I'd like to think there's a number and then every once and a while I get a dose of totally unfiltered internet and I am literally shocked at how terrible the internet has become. I thought it was just stuff like Google being worse and Twitter being garbage but it goes far beyond that.

Those popups went away after about a day for me. Someone on this site also mentioned a Android APK that basically gives you a customizable free Youtube premium on mobile as well so now I can see even fewer ads on Youtube.

I'm glad the days of people rambling about every individual episode of whatever capeshit show was going on are over. Just waiting for Star Wars to have its final collapse too.

I wouldn't trust the opinion of Star Wars fans on anything at this point. I won't make fun of them for being trapped in the habit of watching comforting garbage but the idea that other people might get tricked into joining them at this point is kind of insulting.

There's a chain called "Old Style Chicken" (I guess that's how I'd translate it) in Korea that sells whole fried chickens and one is a meal. If I were buying a chicken for sandwich/salad purposes then I guess it'd last for a handful of meals and take a few days.

I remember absolutely hating Dark Dawn but its been too long to concretely give examples of why. I do remember the characters feeling extremely shallow and just everything generally feeling the same but worse than the old games. I've replayed 1 and 2 recently and they hold up excellently (and honestly I think 1 is actually the better of the two).

The best part is that you can specify pronouns and then the game will apparently just call you he/she based on your body type or whatever anyway. The opposite. r/ArmoredCore is flooded with whiny dipshits crying so hard about how the game is ruined now that Balteus' missiles track a little less. Its not even a significant change. Somehow people that are obsessed with showing off how good they are at AC with dumb achievements forgot that they're just better at the game than three weeks ago when nobody knew what they were doing and Balteus is actually not hard.

r/ArmoredCore went from like 8k members three months ago to roughly 120k now. AC6 is legitimately very very popular. And hopefully it keeps up the trend of getting at least one sequel (or at minimum a large DLC).

I own a private English school. Its stressful running a business but its awesome that all my effort turns into my own money and I have no shitty boss or threat of being fired or anything.

Its fine if this is just a personal hobby project or something but for myself I prefer to just use Steam cheat engine to get around tens of hours of pointless grinding bullshit. I'd still do the boss fights or whatever but what actual satisfaction is there in grinding like 3294238943284382 gil like a desperately inefficient bot?

Sun Wukong is actually the most powerful. His whole thing is that he roughhouses endless pantheons of universe manipulating gods and then eventually achieves nirvana and becomes one of those reality manipulators himself. Maybe the most stupidly written Superman would start to enter the conversation against Sun Wukong but nobody else on that list does. Not even Asura.

Saitama being a parody also invalidates most power comparisons.

AC1 is from 1997. The sequel had a literal custom robot arena mode too.

The game isn't much like Souls but there is a looot of Sekiro in it. Posture and rewarding aggressive attacking being the most considerable parts.

I binged the entire series (aside from the two side games and Gen V) before 6 launched so I'm both an experienced vet and a pretty new fan at the same time.

This is just about the most story that an Armored Core has ever had. The games have a particular atmosphere and themes but until the PS3/360 generation they basically didn't have characters or story. So far 6 does a good job of having characters and a story without veering wildly away from what the series is like. I mean, this is pretty similar to Sekiro and Souls stuff in terms of how detailed and clear (as in, not) the presentation is.

I'm at the second named non-pilot boss and I've got like a dozen arm weapons, half a dozen back weapons, and 4-5 options for each body part. Comparatively quite sparse for what will be available later but so far everything seems either actually good or at least properly usable. In older AC games a lot of weapons are basically duplicates and/or trash or only useful for very specific fight optimizations. I've mostly been sticking to rifle > sword > shield > 4 shot missiles because I haven't been forced to rebuild yet but the options are appealing.

In my estimation they have not. They are still hugely collectible, with The National card convention attracting thousands of visitors every year. Of course, not everything that was speculated on became worth more than a few bucks, but that goes for any collectible. And there are a lot of numbered stuff that even has no value, like something out of 50...they make stuff collectible like this so much now it does water it down some.

But if you open a box of Topps Triple Threads and get a 16 signature booklet, which you could sell for a few thousand minimum, you have struck gold.

This is describing sports cards as investments. Sports (and other kinds of) cards have not come anywhere remotely close to failing as collectibles and are more collectible than they've ever been.

As investments its more difficult to describe since more people are doing it but the number of cards that hold significant long-term value has probably either not changed or declined. People are willing to drop like $30,000 on a 1/1 Luis Robert rookie card but who knows if anyone will give a shit about it even 10 years from now so it doesn't really make any sense as a real investment tool. As a job/gambling effort the market has never been better.

Super is clearly popular and Goku's as relevant as ever but Super is fucking dogshit and its not nearly as popular or influential as Dragon Ball (Z) was. I'm fine with Toriyama looking over that fanfic tier garbage, saying 'Oh yes, SSJ3 forehead for Piccolo, good" and taking home a million dollars but every time I learn something new about Super it just bums me out.

In terms of fun character stuff and charm I'd say they're on a similar level. Earthbound also has a deeper side to it, both in terms of clever references and serious character stuff, that SMRPG doesn't go into. However, SMRPG is by far the superior game experience.

Seems kinda weird to declare like 90% of gaming's past to be its golden age.

I don't like that you can't spoil achievements for yourself anymore. In the old UI you could check "Global Achievements" and see everything but now they're properly spoiler tagged. Not a huge deal but its bothersome to have to google achievement lists now.

On my work Youtube that just has default everything they're bigger but on my home Youtube they're still normal sized. I'm not sure what I set to prevent it from happening but I'd be annoyed to have to install something to turn it back to normal.
