Topic | is/was your mom a good cook? |
Stalolin 02/15/22 9:05:18 PM #22 | I love my mamma, but to be honest, not really. She was always too busy and never took that much of an interest in it like her sister did. Which is fair enough. I've tried my best to learn how to be a good cook and eat well. I will say that I think it's also a generational thing. She's very much from the post World War 2 meat and potatoes kind of era. Just to illustrate what I mean - garlic wasn't introduced to supermarkets in this country until the early 70s or so. By that point she had already formed her cooking and eating habits I think. --- "Our selves are something we create, not discover." |

Stalolin 02/15/22 7:03:23 PM #5 | "When I hear this argument, that there are not enough sex scenes in modern cinema, what Im really hearing are complaintsrightfullyabout the decline of the so-called mid-budget adult drama. It seems like its almost a backdoor way of making the observation that most of cinema is now Marvel-adjacent, superheroes, etc. So I wonder if its not even necessarily about the absence of the sex scene but about the absence of the general environment in which the sex scene would be warranted." --- "Our selves are something we create, not discover." |
