i tried to use speed to get past the row of corridor snipers and they ALL hit me but somehow they can't when i just run past at regular speed lol

1. Can anyone explain Elijah? People thought John the Baptist was Elijah, I just assume he was supposed to be a prophet or something; anyway John says "No" but Jesus later said "Well, actually" and I don't even know who he was supposed to be in the first place
2. Can anyone explain baptism to me? I thought it was just, like, the thing you did to become Christian, but apparently the practice pre-dates Jesus. was it a different practice back then? how similar to modern baptism is it or like... is "baptism" a genre of religious ritual and there are different kinds that exist between different faiths <_< I always thought it was just a Christian thing

i was raised in the american south between 3378 different denominations of christianity. my parents are christian but were never really church people so i just went every once in a while. other family and friends were all over the place. i never, like, belonged to any particular one or understood all the differences lol. i think i believed in god until about halfway through high school then things got murky and i guess it's been up in the air ever since for me

i think i'm really just looking for perspective of what other people believe and... how they experience religion? idk i feel like an alien lol. also this is not intended to be limited christianity or any particular faith so anyone is welcome to share their story
