Yep just respond with a worthless "lol"

Almost everyone that Trump hit the campaign trail for won. Races that people didn't think we'd win. I'm just calling it how it is.

And a couple weeks ago he came to Illinois and didn't even mention Rauner, the incumbent governor, even though he was standing right there next to the stage. He ignored him, never said a word about him. Rauner got his ass handed to him last night. Trump knows who to align with. He's a really smart man.

In all seriousness though, there were reports last week that there was going to be a major shakeup in Trump's White House/Cabinet after the election. Today he wasted no time at all with firing Sessions.

I truly get the impression that Trump knew this was going to happen to the House and he's gotten prepared accordingly. His strategy of instead strengthening his position with the Senate paid off.

TheKentster

It was a success for Trump in the sense that when you compare the midterm to the last several presidents, they all lost significantly more seats. Gaining in the Senate is also huge, and high-profile celebrity backed candidates failed.

It is also a loss, but not that bad nationally.

What I'm sad about locally is Illinois has gone totally blue. We're fucked and about to be taxed to oblivion and have our property values plummet.

You're gonna have to dig up some quotes, because ever since the blue wave was predicted I've never seen anyone say that Dems were taking the senate. It's always been the House that was up for contention.

Gaining 30 House seats and losing 4 Senate is not a "wave" by any metrics.

The House will not pass anything Trump and his cronies put together. but you can continue living in denial, we know Trumpers are really good at that.

Pelosi said she's looking to end the divide and find bipartisan ideas. I'm hopeful that comes true. It would be better for everyone.

bipartisan agreements require both sides, though. do you really think Trump will let the GOP compromise with those filthy liberals?

Yes I do. We're always looking to compromise.

Have any examples?

During Obama, when the GOP controlled the House and Dems the Senate, GOP passed a ton of bills through the House and were open to negotiations to make everyone happy. Instead, as soon as it reached the Senate, it was tabled. No discussions, no compromises. We're willing to work with you. You're not willing to work with us.

Lmao that's not even close to being reality

Yes, it is. Denying it doesn't make it untrue. It was Harry Reid in control of the Senate and he never let any bill hit the floor. The Senate has the power to change what the House passes but Reid refused to do that. He just tabled everything. It is a fact

Compared to Obama in 2010, where democrats lost 63 House seats and 6 Senate seats, and 1994 under Clinton where they lost 53 seats....

Those are big losses. This time the GOP expanded their control over the Senate and lost maybe 30 House seats.

Plus the big headlines like Beto failing and Taylor Swift causing the biggest turnout ever in TN, yet her guy still lost.

Nationally the GOP remains very strong. Very disappointing for Dems.

To me it sounds like the Senate is the real story. Those are statewide elections and Republicans gained ground. That means an overall acceptance of Trump.

The House elections are in small gerrymandered districts. The Senate is a lot more representative of the general population.
