I'm awkward and I have very limited time so I don't make it out to events where I could socialize. I briefly chatted with someone at concert while we were in line for the merch table, but that was it.

Almost all of my friends were people I either met at school or work or were introduced to through other friends. I have like one friend I made all by myself outside of work or school.

So here's my question to you guys. What do you think is going to happen when X men (in full) will appear in the MCU? Because if discrimination happens and we get a January 6 like event in the MCU discrimination... wouldn't they just say, "Oh! X-men had gone WOKE!!"
Disney is too cowardly to seriously handle a topic like discrimination in the MCU for fear of being called woke, even though X-Men stories have been dealing with the subject for decades across all forms of media. The desire for the franchise to only be the most basic of action blockbusters, combined with the failure of the inoffensive but boring "The Marvels" and Iger seeming to side with or at least believe the vocal minority complaining about diversity.

Disney is lazy and expects the fans to be dedicated and unwavering based on the behavior of the core Disney brand adults. I'd call them cheap, but the shows had stupid high budgets and it's amazing how the shows were so mediocre (at least the Marvel ones).

Ari Aster's Hereditary and Midsommar are both mediocre films carried by thematic shock value and stylistic details. Neither film explores the themes present (generational trauma and toxic codependency) especially well. The stylistic details aren't bad, but are a bit derivative because they don't express anything that isn't already obvious in the film's text. Neither film is bad, but their high praise only exists because the horror genre is mostly known for films of a general low quality.

Plus, in the Marvel Earth people get crazy powers all the time and are celebrated for it. Fantastic 4 went to space and came back able to knock over buildings, burn their surroundings, infiltrate places undetected, and stretch(ok, so that one's not terribly threatening on the surface level). They're considered heroes. Spider-Man get bit by a spider, and became super powerful. He's a hero, and people look down on JJJ for treating him differently.

But if for example you're just a random person who inherited a specific gene, or otherwise known as being born different, then you're hated. Their whole world looks down on them and treats them poorly just for how they were born. Sure, one night be to blow you up with a glance, but so could Johnny Storm.
Tbf, Spidey had to deal with a lot of bad reputation in his comics at times. The difference is all that negativity was solely directed towards Spider-Man and came from Spider-Man's blunders or mishaps rather than him simply existing.

Anyway, this thread is proving Magneto was right.

Yeah, some X-Men are crazy powerful. Being the X-Men, they learn to control their powers and not terrorize people for the hell of it.
I'm not super-versed on Marvel, but I don't know if there's a group as unjustly and constantly hated as mutants. I say unjustly because we're talking penny dreadful-quality writing where an entire alien race might just be evil because "aliens."

I'v lived in a suburb my whole life and it's boring. Admittedly, I don't drive, so the fact I can use better public transit in the city is the key factor. There's nothing to do in the suburbs, whereas I could easily find things to do in the city, and even optimize my time better because of the public transportation.

This. If a fanfiction site went down people wouldn't be saying that millions of works of literature have now become lost media.
There's a section of the literary community that has different view when it comes to fanfiction and are actually pushing for more recognition of fan works. I don't delve into fandoms like that, but inevitably there are some great fanfics by sheer number.
And before we get derivative, there are numerous acclaimed fan works in existence. All this was me nitpicking about the present times and mindsets.

I just got done watching this movie a few hours ago. Here is my 2 cents:

I saw that it was labeled as a Black Comedy so right away I was expecting heavy absurdity, shocking and fucked up scenes to be humorous, and they did all this. The acting were certainly good from everyone but the characters were not very likeable nor relatable so finding some kinda connection to this movie wasn't there.

The movie wasn't my cup of tea either but what I disliked most about the movie is Bella is a Mary Sue. She's everything in the movie except wrong or defeated. She's trapped, she's the prisoner, she's the victim and yet she's the hero liberator as she is an innocent and pure soul and all of her actions are justified because she has a child's mind. She barely know consequences and she faces none from her choices whether good or bad which I think is a bad narrative. In the end it just feels like she took everything that was kind to her for granted and yet she still got a happy ending. The title of the movie suggests we should feel sorry for her but it didn't do nothing for me.
She faces consequences. Bella exists in a constant state of learning, when she enters a new, negative experience, she is facing consequences even if her personality doesn't linger on them. It's a story of growth and boundaries. The people who let Bella explore and engage with the world as they please go on their way. The only people who truly negatively suffer from Bella's actions are the people who were being controlling.

Probably because legitimate criticism is few and far between. You cannot objectively state that she is bland, generic, and overrated considering the insane and widespread critical and commercial success she has had.
Most of her music is based on her own life experiences though. Its not like she set out to write songs or curate stuff specifically to appeal to women who were dumped. Men can resonate with her music just as much tbh.
Most of the MCU received some critical acclaim and certainly commercial acclaim, but that's what easily thought of when "bland, generic, and overrated" are thought of with films. I don't see why it wouldn't apply to pop music. Her eras usually seem to follow up on a style someone else beat her to the punch of, but Jack Antonoff writes better for Swift than he does other artists.

The movie was boring. None of the emotional scenes hit. The action scenes were dull. There wasn't much life to this movie aside from a few of the social scenes with the leads. I wasn't putting this film on some high pedestal- I was just hoping to be entertained, which is something that I've gotten from most of the MCU films at least once. I had figured all the people who complained about this movie were just misogynists (and maybe some of them are). Nope, The Marvels wasn't entertaining.
I guess I'd still put it above my bottom picks Doctor Strange and Thor: the Dark World, but I don't know if I'd go any higher.
Also, end credit animation was the most boring I've seen in a while.

A lot of the music I like that was released during my lifetime feels dated to specific eras. Subsequently, listening to that music makes me feel like someone stuck in the past. At the same time, when I listen to some current music, I feel like an old weirdo trying to be hip.

Examples of bands/artists that make me feel old:
AJJ
Metric
The Long Blondes

Examples of bands/artists that me realize how old I am and worry that I'm trying to be hip
Destroy Boys
Beach Bunny
Mitski

The one exception are metal bands, because I feel that fans of the genre don't have any particular care and think that a good metal album from any year is relevant and worth listening to.

Does anyone else get stressed out like this, or do you simply not care?

I think the USA should always prioritize helping its own citizens over aid to other nations, barring the exception of aid after a natural disaster.
Exempt cell phone service from the entertainment tax or at least create a new tax at a lower rate for cell phone service. Cell phone usage is critical to many people for non-entertainment purposes.

Many countries offer aid after natural disasters, and it would simply be a bad look for the USA not to offer aid in that regard.

Am I of poor moral views if I'd be against the death penalty but allow for a punishment that allowed the criminal to choose suicide at any point during their life imprisonment? I'm neutral on the death penalty for crimes of murder, though I don't support the death penalty for every murderer, and so long as the death penalty exists I would also support the death penalty as punishment for severe cases of reckless homicide and manslaughter.
