A 20-year old trying to make it in the bodybuilding world, especially with the kinda "kid next door" look Lars had back then, was a prime candidate for gay porn producers to prey on. Those bodybuilding boards were crawling with them. I got a few creepy PMs back on bb.com when I posted there ages back, but I wasn't built like him nor hoping to make a career in it. I was just a kid who liked lifting and was in college to be an engineer, so the "offers" didn't hold much appeal. Take someone with enough desperation and low enough self esteem (and bodybuilders are about as low on the self-esteem ladder as it gets, believe me) and you can coerce them into doing some seriously debasing shit if you give them promises of "making it" in the industry. I've not seen the full video, just screenshots, and it definitely looks like the kind of "we're filming this in my hotel room" shit that people I know got snookered into that turned into this terrible secret they held onto for basically the entire rest of their lives just praying no one found out about it. Lars posting homophobic shit later absolutely screams of wanting to slice his own throat over it. I know it's fun to call it karma (even though it's kinda the other way around) and think that because Lars was a total shithead on a message board it means he deserves zero empathy, but he's a human being like all of us and if you start digging deeper under the surface there's not much that's very "funny" about this." --- |
