blood clots have been a known side effect of covid after a few weeks, it's a lingering effect. think the earliest data we had on this was back in June/July but its been consistently in news and studies. these days treatment for covid includes blood thinners for a bit, to see how legs are doing in particular.

vaccines getting looked at for the same issue means something's going on but nobody really knows what or why, just that it's a thing with potential in the way the body reacts to something like covid.

...you know, i completely overlooked that but you're right. i always forget how fast USB 3.0 is because i only ever use it with HDDs but an SSD should absolutely be able to push to a level near that max, at which point it's totally on par with internals.

yeah, i've got nothing. that should work on everything. the only concern at that point is the durability of the USB port, wire, and case the SSD is inside.

they've got comments from people who were in the call too after the fact, further verifying it.
so that's a done deal then, cuomo covered up the nursing home deaths. already had enough things implying it and enough shady shit like halving the numbers but that's just an out and out admission.

now all that's left is to see the DOJ go after him.

if you aren't trying to do this on a currently demanding game that needs to constantly be changing what's on the screen, go for it.

external SSD will have the main hiccups only be in the transfer, whereas if you go towards HDDs best advice there is avoid SMR ones too. easy answer to that would be stick to 8TB+ drives at the moment, which are pretty ideal for a collection of games.

the reason USB-C can be better is because that port should be able to greatly surpass the standard USB 3(.1) ports when it comes to transfer speeds, which in turn means fewer bottlenecks. with that an an SSD? should be good. like i wouldn't recommend doing the latest COD or something like that on it but you'd get away just fine with like 95% of games i imagine.

might be the first time i've seen two titles i've beaten and one was this month because of game pass, Gris. think that was done the 3rd or 4th, so right before the topic but hey, still the month of Feb. Ys was just long ago, i'm just not used to seeing that in the title.

honestly didn't like it very much. liked the soundtrack but the game's otherwise rather dull as it hits you over the head with the themes of grief, loss, and all that. it was a pretty game but that's basically all it has going for it, couldn't help but think "man, this is an artsy watered down Ori that doesn't even look any better." doubt i'll play it again but it certainly did what it set out to do.

Rent is an issue of the market being trash. There's not enough affordable housing, developers seek profits and so increase the rent or build more expensive apartments, low financial incentives to build low-income housing to demand and to top it all off nobody wants it to be built near them once you clear the rest of the hurdles.

This is something UBI helps with but doesn't effectively solve because the real problem are these structural issues. Could work as a quick bandaid for a while until housing is built, though.

honestly the housing doesn't even need to be built, just used. like right now cities like nyc are completely messed up on rent prices and covid proved a few different reasons why prices are massively artificially inflated. one group of people would rent multiple apartments just to say they were renting them or as a third city home. another group would rent places to be airbnbs. while some elements are 'let the market decide,' other elements just don't make any sense right now and even my old ass building has at least 5 vacancies because the rent's too high and it hasn't had that issue in 30 years.

i mean, the issue with setting that standard to working a 40 hour week is that there's a lot of people that don't have 40 hour weeks right now.

food is a bit weird in that you can get around it a bit by offering services for it. using nyc as an example: schools carry community meals between 3-5 (noon to 3 on holidays) during the weekdays, where anyone can go pick some food up. it's basic school food stuff like milk, cereal, sandwiches, muffins, fruits, etc but you certainly will not starve, it's free, it employs staff when kids do not exist, and there's no technical limit to how many meals you can ask for. this probably can't be done in suburban or rural areas with the efficiency here but that shit's great in cities. and of course, this is irrelevant to EBT, which you can get separately and there's a lot of stuff you can get there.

if there's good social programs for food, the issue then becomes rent.
a freeze on evictions just means you're evicted later so that's a problem.

there's technically a chance of a crash, sure.

in order for that to happen it would require all the short sellers to NOT have left, for the stocks in question to continue going up, for them to sell everything to pay up gamestop/amc/whatever else, prompting a massive selloff across other major stocks like disney, amazon, apple, google, etc, and for others to take this as meaning they need to sell too instead of buying that dip.

so super unlikely as it's not just demanding the short sellers to be stupid but a lot of other people. you might have a few days of stocks dropping before they go right back up a week later.

now other things can contribute - super covid - but this event shouldn't cause anything. maybe something more long-term for people hunting at overly shorted stocks (e.g., silver) but expect changes and new regulations to be put in place sooner than later. only thing left after that is whether people snap and react violently or not. i'm gonna wager "not" over this but that's the only thing left.

It's critical to get out of this going into the squeeze or as the squeeze happens. If the squeeze occurs and you don't get out, and you don't realize you need to get out, you'll be headed for big losses as the collapse happens. If a squeeze even happens.

Vague timelines of how to long to hold this are very dangerous. At the very least you should all be thinking about safely guaranteeing your principal, if you haven't done so already.

honestly we all just underestimated how they'd fight back against everyone.
as it stands they purposefully manipulated the markets to force the buying price to the levels that they wanted, live throughout the day, by restricting access. from you can't buy at all to you can buy 110 shares, then 25, then 5, then 1. by manipulating the purchasing they can keep the stock prices at a level they want.

there won't be that $1000 GME unless the hedge funds are THAT dumb. AMC won't get what it should have gotten either, both have their worst neutered so on that front, the squeeze isn't as strong as it should be.

but there's still enough for a heavy gain. with GME and AMC. BB is more uncertain.

that's individual people deciding to take their money and invest in what they want to invest in.
nobody's forcing them, they aren't changing any rules, they aren't even doing anything weird for the most part. it's buy/sell with a handful of options. bots doing their thing is what they always do, that changes nothing.

market manipulation is literally controlling what i can or can't buy, especially coupled with being able to sell everything. market manipulation is shorting a stock 140%, 80%, or any stupidly high number. they're the ones playing that bet, everyone is just calling them on it.

gamestop, wasn't a meme. it was, is, guaranteed money. people caught a bad bet and called the bluff. they're dead to rights on this with no way out.

amc, not a meme. it's fairly undervalued and was had 83% of its stock in shorts. just because gamestop was 140% doesn't mean 83% is normal or even fine, that's a risky bet and all kinds of wrong.

i'm not aware of the situation with NAKD, BB, or NOK. but the last two do have major claims to their name in recent events too and are probably undervalued, with too many short sellers on 'em. for "meme stocks" they're surprisingly solid choices and the meme value helps them get noticed well.

i'm not the best one to ask as my knowledge of specific stock market stuff is outdated by years.
but the general process is still consistent so at the very least do consider what you want to do in your next step and that should be with scenarios of if you make little money, if you make good money, and if you make great money.

like bitcoin, litecoin, etc all have a limited amount of supply. doge doesn't, it's literally limitless. if people want more dogecoin they can just make it. as a result, demand can never meet supply.
