Three times in 13 years. Was speeding two times so I deserved it and got ticketed. The third time was for not signaling when turning right, even though right was the only direction i could turn (hence why I didn't signal). I think he just wanted an excuse to ID me and run my plates. After everything came back clean he let me go with a warning.

There have two times when cops have gotten behind me and I could see in my rear view that they were running my plates. One of those times the cop literally stayed on my ass while I got in the left turning lane to turn into my neighborhood. After a few seconds, he suddenly didn't need to be in the turning lane anymore and went on about his business. I guess he saw my plates were clean and left me alone.

I don't get people who say "Renting apartments is throwing away money" and then gladly waste money that goes to taxes, interest, PMI, insurance, higher utility bills, upkeep, and maintenance. Also, the idea that your home's value will always go up is not one you should bank on as history has shown us. Studies on the subject show that real estate on average across America basically just keeps up with inflation over long periods of time. That said, I know that everything about real estate is local so different pockets of the country experience different rates of growth and appreciation. My point is that the rent vs. own conversation is nowhere near as black and white as many people make it seem as there are valid reasons to do both that are dependent upon one's situation. You really have to identify your goals and do a full financial analysis (which most people never actually do) to determine whether it's a better option.

Not just maintenance. Taxes, insurance, pmi (most cases), hoa fees (some cases), other random crap. Home ownership is expensive

....Do you think that the black officer, who had been 100% compliant up until that point, suddenly got belligerent or something? What could he have possibly done to have justified shooting him, yet the other two officers did not feel threatened at all? This cop is an idiot and is not fit for police duty.

But that's just it. Legally a company can fire you for anything you say. A company can fire you for any reason, good or bad, or even no reason unless the basis for firing you is based on your membership in a protected class (race, religion, etc).

But that's so fucked up because that legally means that we are forced to discriminate.

So a company can legally openly fire me because they don't like my haircut. And they can say "we fired you because of your haircut" and that's totally ok?

Yes, your boss can fire you if he doesn't like your haircut and it's perfectly legal. Not all discrimination is bad and often times it's even necessary. I see no reason why a company should be forced to keep an employee it doesn't want (outside of the protected class thing). Managers look at resumes and discriminate all the time. No college degree? Trash bin. Short work history? Trash bin? Didn't pass background check? Trash bin. All perfectly legal discrimination.

and I doubt that's on hard work alone, your personality, your relationships with people and how you carry yourself are to blame for your success. I dispose people like you. It makes me wish the world was destroyed every single day. That's how you succeed in life, not by being a cog and wallflower.

You despise me for...being productive with my time and abilities? I didn't do anything that any other focused individual couldn't do. Part of "the way I carry myself" included prioritizing school, making good long term decisions, and not blowing off responsibilities during high school and college. FYI, i worked a full time job during high school and college and I never got a job based on someone I knew. I simply applied, do research, and interview well based on tips from the internet and common sense.

1) DNA tests should be a court-ordered requirement in order for child support to even be an option. There are plenty of men who are being forced to pay child support for kids that aren't even theirs just because the mother put their name down as the father. Here's two really fucked up examples.

2) After DNA is established, custody should be awarded 50/50 to both the mother and father. This in and of itself will eliminate a lot of child support payments. In the event that this is not possible (parents live too far away and/or in different states, one of the parents is a danger to the child or irresponsible) then custody should be awarded to whomever the court deems better fit to take care of child (physically and financially). Non-custodial parent will have visitation rights (which shall not be infringed on by the custodial parent or else they'll face stiff penalties)

3) Child support should be based on child care expenses, not lifestyle expenses. The non custodial parent should be on the hook for HALF of child related expenses such as the incremental costs associated with having to own a 2 bedroom instead of a 1 bedroom house/apt, food, clothing, medical. Child support payments should be capped at somewhere around $1500 a month per child no matter how much the father makes (this amount is probably too high and I'm willing to take it down with a little bit of convincing). Again, this is child support, not lifestyle support. If the court want the child to have the same lifestyle as the non-custodial parent, then they should give that parent custody. Simple as that.

4) While we're in this realm of discussion, alimony should be done away with except for in rare circumstances. Divorce should result in a total separation from each other, and that includes financially. The only situation where alimony should be allowed is if the mother was a stay-at-home mom and may need a little bit of time to find a job (having been out of the work force for a while). This alimony should only be temporary, around 6 months MAX.
