Think of the reveals as button presses. One button press (revealing a single Dark/Earth/Fire monster) is a basic attack, and multiple button presses (their second effects where they reveal multiple attributes or multiples of one attribute) is a combo string. And their effects that "tag out" monsters by returning one to the hand to summon another are a reference to fighting games that have a similar tag mechanic or that have assist characters.

Also, you have to consider that they have to not use those cards in their hands to have them available to reveal for various VS effects. There are definitely situations where a VS player has to choose between whether to use a handtrap/kaiju from their hand or to keep it in their hand because they need to reveal it for a VS effect, and weighing the opportunity cost of those two options and making the right decision based on the game state is a big part of playing the deck. Comparing it to Tearlaments, which was so braindead to play because every "cost" you paid just triggered another effect 95% of the time anyways, is ridiculous.

That doesn't at all change that you don't get rid of anything. You just add and add and add only to not have to pay any kind of price. An effect gets negated, that's okay! You spent your negate while they can just use the same effect the very next turn!

Why is VS allowed to keep their cards when they activate effects? Everybody else has to pay a price, these fuckers do this shit for free. How is that fair?

The problem goes way beyond MCU writing with the sheer amount of bombs in theaters this year.

I still don't think that's true. Marvel had a ton of goodwill which is why for a time their movies were still making bank. But as the shows and movies continued to be awful that goodwill quickly dried up. If they had kept writing at a good will, that wouldn't have happened.

The Gerard Butler and Liam Neeson action movies of today don't review particularly well as they're based on movies that revolutionised cinema four decades ago but they do their job and have their audience.

The original story for what was essentially FFX-3 is MUCH worse. I'd rather have fanservice than that.

For videogames, it really isn't. Video game scores are super inflationary and the average score of an average game is higher than that of the average, say, movie. In gaming a 7 means mediocre or serious but not game-breaking issues. A 9-9.5 is a 'damn good' score at this point. 8 is 'fine'.

That's bullshit. There are MANY 8/10s that are damn good games.

From what I can tell by every bit of footage I've seen, this is a true paint-by-the-numbers remake. Like they've literally just taken the same exact game and given it relatively newish coat of paint. I'm not surprised its not being lauded as a masterpiece.

Mario rpg is one of the easiest game I have ever played and people who played it as kids are mot likely in the 25 to 40 age range. I guess they take kids into consideration and want it to be accessible to them, but it's a VERY old game and people who played it younger would like a bigger challenge

No I don't. I don't give a shit about difficulty and I think people's obsession with difficulty is hurting gaming as a whole.

What could they spoil? I've played this game countless times.

Why are people acting like this saga is so seat of its pants when we had literally no characterization for Thanos until he showed up in Infinity War? We had vague promises of a threat and a few stones scattered hither and yon. The whole thing only congeals in hindsight.

Didn't seem like it was to me. Every parent did what they thought was best for their child, right or wrong. It isn't a stretch that after seeing another Naru shielding Ori, the same way Kuro attempted to shield her eggs, snapped her out of her grief and realized she'd be robbing another mother of their child.

Trial and error? They were kinda tough but nothing I'd consider trial and error. That implies that you had to guess at certain points and I don't recall having to guess, ever.

I loved it so much. It genuinely felt like I was a kid again. The old Mario magic seems to still be there and I couldn't be happier!

Yeah, if they stick with that exclusively as more like Pete trying but failing to be normal for a time, that is fine. But permanently giving up the mantle? He'd never do that. Ever.

But this isn't the comics. I can 100% see him giving it up if he can, especially since that's what he's training Miles for. He doesn't need to be Spider-Man now that he knows that the city will be just fine with only Miles.

This. I'm all for Peter retiring but it for damn sure isn't happening now. Hell, 2 ends with him taking a break but not hanging it up permanently.

It literally says "for now". Which can mean one of two things. We're getting another solo Miles game or the third one will start off with just Miles. There's no way Peter won't be the main one based on what they've teased for the third.
