Yasuke is pretty well known among enthusiasts of that era and place of history but not much is known about him, which literally makes him perfect for historical fiction with a loose connection to historical accuracy.

How much you wanna bet he didn't flip shit like this about Valhalla having horned helmets and claymore swords? If it really is all about historical accuracy then that's even more egregious than using a well known of but largely mysterious historical figure as a main character.

They didn't even have a story outline when they started it was literally improv between directors. Yeah it sucked ass. People thought the prequels sucked but at least those are the product of artistic vision. The sequels are just soulless business products.

Oh my god of course there's going to be a westerner, we know the order of assassin's isn't native to japan so they had to come there somehow. It being either Yasuke or a guy based on Yasuke is cool as hell what's the fucking problem here.

I'd prefer regulations on social media to remove things like infinite scroll and engagement-maximizing algorithms than anything like an arbitrary age limit.

I'm finding the game pretty playable if I turn on AFMF (fake frame generation, looks smoother in exchange for (negligible, to me) input lag) in the AMD software thingamajig. Performance is still pretty crap in the cities, but at least that's not where the action happens, but it's fine when traveling and fighting which is the meat of the game. Already I like it more than the first game.

You're probably safe unless you're stupid about it like Yuzu was by selling cracked copies of games. If Dolphin can keep going strong for 20+ years with barely a whiff of legal trouble you're probably fine to continue.

Add to that none of the stories really relate to each other. The Crimson Fleet shouldn't want a high ranking Navy Scab as a leader (or vice versa), and neither the UC or Freestar Collective should be okay with you both being a Ranger and you being a high-ranking member of the navy when they were very recently at war with each other. Heck, you can be a high ranking member of the UC Navy, then explicitly betray the UC SysDef to lead the Crimson Raiders, and it's just like... fine. That is not something that should just be ignored. And none of these relate to the overall story, when they so easily could have. Think the game would be so much better with a Fallout 4-esque "You need to choose one faction eventually" to the story, and then you could get a bunch of Freestar Rangers, or the UC Navy, or a bunch of Pirates to help you in the final level when you go confront The Emissary or the Hunter. It also would have made the New Game + lead up with the Starborn stuff a lot more interesting, because there's a lot more that could vary from one playthrough to another.

The disconnectedness is one of the worst things about the game to me. It's so obvious that every questline was made by a different person and none of them talked to eachother. The main story especially has no relation to anything. Nobody in the settled systems cares about Constellation or what they're doing. Nobody cares about the artifacts because nobody has any goals, interests, or ideologies worth furthering and fighting over. Nobody wants anything in Starfield, everything about it is so depressingly apathetic towards everything else.

The game was kind of average, but this is a massive exaggeration. The game's worst aspect is it's bland and boring. It's still playable.

The game doesn't do anything wrong, but that's because it doesn't do anything in the first place. It's offensive how hard it's trying to be inoffensive. They could not have made a blander experience if they wanted to, because the goal from the beginning was to be as bland as possible so there'd be nothing to criticize. At every seam you can see Bethesda's cowardice seeping through.

If they could have gotten away with not having any written dialogue or story they probably would have tried, because what writing there is in the game is god awful.

It is one of the worst games that has ever been made. There is no salvaging it. Everything about it is terrible to the core. Patches and DLC and mods cannot fix Starfield. Its problems run far deeper than just technical performance and bugs.A "fixed version of Starfield" would have to be an entirely different game with a different structure and a new setting.

I think I'll be the assessor of boner quality here.

not only that but! I think some fanservice, some jokes, and some filler go a long way towards rounding out any story and making it all more believable and authentic. it can't be all serious all the time. even at the lowest points in my life I still took a gander at a nice boob here and there. I still wasted time doing nothing. I still tried to make myself and others laugh at the right opportunity. sure you gotta save the world from shinra or whatever happens in the game but you're only human and your party members are really hot.

It has MAGAs. Not "literally" MAGAs but literally MAGAs, who harass the main characters as being illegals for being Hispanic. Of course it apparently super heavy handed and probably would have been better served by not trying to use real world stuff.

That kind of thing does actually happen though. That is the lived experience of many people. Why should it not be fair game to make a video game about a common lived experience? Especially if it's a game set in the real world modern day?

Wow they got the same actors as the original movies from the 80s. That's groundbreaking. It's never been done before in a reboot. They never do that. It's so original and amazing. Reboots of 80s movies never get the original actors back. It's so incredible that they got the same actors that were in the original movies from the 1980s to reprise their roles for the reboot. That's so exciting.

I miss Deep Space 9. Back when Star Trek wasn't so woke and political. The closest it ever got to being political was when Rom stares directly into the camera and says with a straight face "workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains". And when the only trans characters were in the frontline main cast and brought up their gender frequently as it bore relevance to the plot and their personal viewpoints.
