it is polite because it isn't as personal as a given name. that's why it is "polite" in general settings; intimate names are for those close to us. It less polite for someone that doesn't know you well to use an intimate name compared to the more general name.

The mr/miss/mrs is a title standing in for the given name which a person either doesn't know or doesn't feel familiar enough to use with you.

the geography creeps me out more than the desert states. too flat. I grew up in the mountains and flatness is unnerving to me.

My parents never had any rules though about how much time I spent outside or how many sports/clubs I joined. I always wanted to be part of things so there was no need to push me.

I played baseball and basketball in elementary school, in the local youth league. I was a waterboy for the varsity football team 6th grade and full time manager for the middle school team that year. In 7th and 8th, I ran track, played basketball, and played on the middle school football team.

In high school, I ran varsity cross county and jv basketball for two years. I lost interest in the sports teams though by my junior year and stopped. I still played backyard and pickup sports a lot though.

I did cub scouts. We stopped having a troop and there was no local boy scouts. I was secretary of high school club two years and its president my senior year.

I still need lots of alone time and I loved video games. So I did phase out activities by the end of high school. It was too much and it ran my batteries down. I still like people and going out, but my energy and interests changed as an adult. I am less social and more independent now. Work and life stress and obligations make me not want to do things with my free time lol. It was easy to find time as a kid when I had no obligations and I had limitless energy.

They briefly tried to recruit me before I went to graduate school. I sorta wish I would have done it.

This guy interviewed me like 20 years ago on AIM about the ethics of stomping on bugs. I don't know when he got into the news racket but I think he had dossiers on lots of us back then through the weird questionnaires.

It's just atompunk If you go watch sci-fi movies from the 50s and 60s, you'll understand. These are futures based on present day societies that had access to nuclear technology but not the microprocessor. The transistors was still new in fact -- it didn't become a thing until after world war 2.

That's the best way I can put it. I don't know the specifics of the Fallout universe but that is how I always explained it to myself while playing the games.

I got a XM in 2004. I've been a subscriber since then. XM was better.

Still, my sat radio is my primary entertainment. I listen to it more than I watch TV.

XM did music way better than Sirius. I mainly bought it for music. The merger with Sirius degraded many of the music stations and their much wider playlists. Sirius focused more on talk and entertainment stations with famous people crossovers.

SiriusXM is so much better than FM radio. However, from a strictly music standpoint, it is not as good as it used to be. They're really pushing podcasts and famous people sponsored entertainment and music branded channels now. Really a disappointment.

However, it is amazing for sports. I pay for the NFL package. I get all the NHL games, MLB, and NBA games too. I get a lot from that. I also think there are still a few great DJs left, especially on the emerging music and indie music stations as well.

My favorite music blogger ever, Carles (the guy who ran hipster runoff) I found through his program on Sat radio.

There's a spot by my house on my commute home every day from work. It is 4 lane intersecting another 4 lane. I have to make the right turn at the intersection. There's a sign that clearly reads NO TURN ON RED. I don't know it's there, but it's there. So I don't turn. It flips people the f out behind me sometimes because the light is on a fairly long cycle.

I don't know why I remember this one so well.

I graduated high school over 20 years ago.

Yep. Been hit in the eye with a grounder baseball that popped up at the right moment.

Also got sucker punched in a club parking lot when I tried to de escalate an argument between my friend and a bunch of frat guys who ran off afterward.

As a teenager, I got hit by someone swinging a golf iron. I thought I was standing far enough away but the follow through got me almost directly in the eye.

I was lucky to not lose my eye. I had to get a bunch of stitches. I nearly passed out but somehow didn't from the blow.

I think the hobbit life is ideal. Reasonable amounts of labor, food, friends, and growing things all around you. Sign me up for that.

Twice.

Due to a chain of reasons, unrelated to controlled or illicit substances, I passed out twice in the bathroom, winter 2003. I was home from college freshmen year for Christmas. I had just taken a long bath at my parents house. Opened the linen closet and proceeded to pass out into it. I busted my head open in the process.

I came to in a slump on the floor bleeding. Managed to pull on some shorts after standing up. I passed out again while opening the door into the hall. Came to with my mom sitting on the floor with me and my dad panicking over top of me.

Not fun! I had a scar above my left eye for years from this incident.

It's not the middle of the night. Nobody goes to Denny's prior to 10pm.

Can somebody explain to me where there are Fandom wiki out there with some fairly blue content, given a game or franchises subject material, and such sites seem to get along fine. Do the same rules apply to content on such wiki as here or are there different rule threshold? Is the threshold discussions regarding controversial or blue content vs it merely existing on the site as a function of the content itself?

Does that make sense? I figure this is explained somewhere but I haven't seen it.

I met my past two serious girlfriends through online apps.

I am in my thirties. One girl in late 20s and the other late 30s. These girls had never married. One was a professor the other was finishing a masters in nursing. It definitely works but it takes a while to meet someone worthwhile.

I don't have the space for an antenna or a room full of transceivers. When I buy a house I would like space for such things

I would play As, Bs, Cs, Ds, Es, Fs, Gs, Hs, Is, Js, Ks, Ls, Ms, Ns, Os, Ps, Qs, Rs, Ss, Ts, Us, Vs, Ws, and Xs first. Then Ys. You want to play them all before the final game Zs. That's the only way the ending will make sense.

I hate the game. I will never play it again. Trapped. Completely trapped dozens of hours in with only one save slot. No way to win. No idea he was coming.

I'm told Final Fantasy Tactics is great. It will be ever one or near number one on my hated games list because of him.

I would not choose to play Drakkhen. Definitely not fun on a SNES. As a kid that got a SNES for Christmas in 91 though, I thought the graphics looked amazing.
