Like all of sudden they will show a clip from some random TV show the Griffins are watching.

They have multiple writers for each episode, sometimes they let every person write a joke without seeing the outline for the episode and they'll just throw it in.

I'll at least agree with you that people are the problem, because this country has a cultural issue with gun violence and firearm access (and health care access and education access and criminal justice reform...) that it is too stubborn to fully address.

Mental health needs to be taken more seriously in this country. IIRC - people were aware of the dudes problems but he slipped through the cracks. It's such a large problem that simply ridding the world of guns won't do anything to solve it.

Well, getting rid of guns entirely would only leave them in the hands of police and military - aka armed guards...Except for on a much broader scale.

I'd much rather have an armed police officer on duty at a school because it's a deterrent.

Shit man, they've got security at airports too. Nobody bitches about that. Like I said, gun regulation only helps to an extent. Criminals won't be bothered with the fact that fully automatics are illegal. Criminals also won't be bothered with no gun zones.

So if we get rid of guns for law abiding citizens, have no form of security, and only leave the guns to criminals, then how is that logical or even the least bit okay?

We had a police officer stationed at my high school at all times during school hours and nobody noticed anything. The only downside was that it was harder to smoke certain things in the parking lot.

They didn't do drug dogs, pat downs, etc. He was pretty cool and I was on good terms with him despite being a "burnout" - like, he'd even let my friends and I leave campus and not tell anyone as long as we promised to bring him either a slurpee or coffee lmao.

Idk. All I'm saying is that criminals won't pay attention to the laws so "gun control" will only be able to help so much. Maybe I'm naive in saying that, but I don't believe that giving up your rights will be beneficial in the long run.

Anyway, car accidents, drug overdoses, etc all kill more young people than school shootings. I don't get why we don't have crazy protests about heroin addiction which is a huge problem where I live.

Also, the recent Florida shooting specifically happened because the FBI weren't doing their jobs to stop this event from happening. I'm sure they were aware of other tragedies and did absolutely nothing. I'd much rather people be protesting that than guns as a whole since clearly people are the problem and not a chunk of metal.

It's a touchy subject. I used to and didn't really want anyone talking to me at the time. Eventually it got to the point where I moved to my ankles since I was sick of people asking about it...

All I'll be able to say is what I noticed of myself and my friends who cut - they KNOW that nobody can understand how they feel and it's VERY VERY hard to convince them otherwise. However, part of them is probably openly displaying them because they do want to be helped.

Seriously, just try and make sure they know that you'll be there for them should they need it and try to include/invite them as much as possible for group events. Even if they turn you down, sometimes the security knowing that someone is thinking about them will be enough to seek help.

Also, don't pull the "you need to see a psychiatrist" card unless you're close enough with them and know how they'd react to that advice.
