These are totally reasonable accommodations and expectations afforded to those exercising their right to an abortion. Yeah, no. Depending on where it is and that state, they might still have you complete therapy sessions and impose a mandatory waiting period between when you get your consultation and when you can actually receive treatment. Many of these clinics also don't offer these services to pregnant women who have gone beyond a certain point in the pregnancy which means this is all very time sensitive, less time for weighing your options than you might hope. What are you to do if someone loses their job, and circumstances change to make was once a manageable situation an impossible one? I thought this might be an issue of definitions. Our working definition of murder is something like: "The willful and unlawful termination of the life of another human being without their consent." Operative words here are 'unlawful' which is necessary because there are lawful instances wherein the state can end another life and it not be considered murder. So the unlawful/lawful distinction is necessary. Another necessary point of clarity is 'human being,' our working defintions of which are mostly things like: A member of the species "Homo sapiens", distinguished from other animals by superior mental development, power of articulate speech, and upright stance." You're doubtless aware of the issue (lol). That most newborn children can't satisfy all of those conditions at birth, but are at least capable of the levels of mental development we associate with growing children, with rest of these distinctions soon following. But there are stages in pregnancy where even that is not present, and the human being exists only as a potential outcome of the pregnancy. A possibility, not a person. So you are not protecting human life. At best, you're protecting potential human life. And you're doing it at the cost of another actual human being's bodily autonomy. With most commonly used definitions, your position is actually self-defeating. Depending on the methods you use in legally advocating your position, it's potentially ethically bankrupt as well. But instead it looks like he insisted on trying to take photographs of private citizens who specifically denied him access to their likeness.
