Dont sell yourself short. A minute plank isnt that far off.

Planks are objectively the best exercise for overall core strength, but only if youre doing them correctly. If youre not contracting the abs then youre just using your shoulders and hip flexors to stay up, and obviously thats not what you want. The biggest downside to planks is that holding one position gets boring as you get stronger. So you should experiment with different types of plank exercises once youve developed enough to stay raised for a minute with no issues.

The problem is the idiot parents trying to get kids maximum exposure so they pay professional coaches to train and play them year round in showcases and tournaments. Its a complete shit show.

Theres no benefit to light lifting. The heavier the better.

Used guns are a better value, but you need to know guns or trust the seller if you go that route. I had to clean a USP with carburetor cleaner after getting it from a pawn shop because neither the shop or previous owner ever cleaned it properly. But most brand parts are very cheap and easy to change out, so well used is rarely an issue with firearms.
