this thing really died. I think it just ran out of fans to reach. a little over 1 million is probably about right, but theres a long way to go so perhaps itll just slowly push towards 1.5 for the next month.

I think turn based JRPG fans will find this just because its a new one with a reasonable budget. its not like the early 2000s where there were 5 coming out every month. even stuff like Live a Live finds an audience now.

Im not worried about its success though because I just want to play another one of these after almost 20 years.

then again, Shadow Hearts is a pretty generic name and has been confused for Kingdom Hearts for 20 years. Ive grown to like it though

theres so much in that game that I didnt understand, and I played it for like 80 hours and liked it. I think they probably learned their lesson but 2 wasnt exactly straightforward either.

did you get the sense that it was over? I assumed it was going to be a main plot point going forward.

I saw it but it didnt really move the needle for me. I guess some folks are talking about it as Square getting into the Rune Factory business? I havent played Rune Factory so I dont have much to draw from here.

probably. its super likable. it has that charm.

Im pretty sure Medina is objectively the best character by the end but the game is so stubborn about healing items that it rarely gets a chance to manifest itself.

for the true ending, you get into a split party situation where youre expected to have gone through other routes in new game plus. you end up in a situation where you only have 6 or 7 units for a battle that expects 10 and its real rough. it was the one downside of a great game.

which chapter? I didnt get any game overs til the second half when I accidentally ended up on the true ending path.

I just learned where they were and got on top of them. if they got away, I wanded them

I got past it, and just entered the Cathedral, but yeesh
