I usually don't like to put a ton of value on scale in this contest, but Yawgmoth literally turned a perfectly nice world into biomechanical hell so he could be a multiversal god. All of this after being Fantasy Josef Mengele for the sheer reason of "scientific research" - not for a greater good but for personal satisfaction. One of the worst things is that Yawgmoth doesn't just kill innocents -- he compleats them, forcing them to become biomechanical minions of his against their will and turning them into loyal evangels for the Filigree Scriptures. The Phyrexians have the same compulsion to convert all they cross as the Borg do, but with religious fanaticism that has been indoctrinated into them. As I said last time he came up, Yawgmoth's evil has outlived him centuries later. The New Phyrexians infected the plane of Mirrodin and began to change it into their own replica of Yawgmoth's original Phyrexia, and from there they breached the multiverse in a move bolder than even he did. This brought horrifying wars to countless worlds where people had to face their own compleated kin to save their worlds. --- E come vivo? Vivo! |

You'll see this in Magic even if there is a top 8 cut. Top players will intentionally draw in their last 2 rounds to make sure they make the top 8. I know "intentional draws" won't happen in organized sports, but if a team has locked first place with 3, 5, or even 7 games ahead in prolific sports like baseball, then the season may as well be that much shorter. This is something low-placed teams already deal with, but it shouldn't end up like that for everyone. --- E come vivo? Vivo! |

The piano is nice but the song just kinda makes me wanna take a nap. Its not exciting or engaging in much of any way. I guess its nice for background music, but I doubt it adds much to whatever encounter its a part of. Another song with some genuinely interesting ideas that fails to deliver on those in interesting ways.Funny enough, I nominated this before the fight came out in the global servers, so I didn't know the context - I just loved the mix of the piano and strings and was curious what kind of fight it would come to. The reason for that is I dont like opera. It especially clashes here because the melody and backing instrumentation dont really feel like a natural fit. Like, its just standard JRPG fare with some opera singer layered on top, which makes it go from fine to bad. Sorry, this one was hard to get through. Popping in to say, as a former opera singer and current opera enthusiast, Daughter of the Dark God's singer is absolute dogshit. Good placement. --- E come vivo? Vivo! |

It's all about insidious corruption versus overt atrocity. I don't begrudge anyone for voting for the latter, but in most cases, I find the former more evil by default. Alex's crimes, horrible as they are, don't go on a large enough scale to compare to Mephisto's subtle influence leading to misery in my eyes. --- E come vivo? Vivo! |
