Correct, but if just ONE level in a MMX game had acoustic music, we would all remember it.

I don't mean for the entire soundtrack to be wildly different than what you'd expect, but to throw a curve ball every now and then is really refreshing and fun.

Plus do we really need another boring ass atmospheric rocky mountain song?

The game also flat out tells you to ensure all your party members are equipped for what's about to go down. I loved the entire finale top to bottom.

How difficult in general is the platinum?

It's less about difficulty and more about the grind honestly. The hardest part is no doubt the end game Combat Simulator stuff. I ended up using an OP Magic build with 2 characters just supporting the third.

That and a couple of the Hard Mode bosses Rufus especially.

The hardest mini game for me was by far the final Gliding Chocobo one. You need to execute that with exact perfection. Cactuar Crush wasn't too bad once I used one of Aerith's abilities that self charges up to lvl 2, then you unleash it on the big boys. Can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

3D Brawler is way too hard to not cheat through. Just cheat it.

My best advice would be to just power through Hard Mode to get all of the SP tomes (You get a bunch from end game fights) so that you have maximum weapon level for the combat simulator. And be sure to grab the two best armors in the game in the final dungeon. I completely missed these on my first run through and regretted it.

3D Brawler was insanely brutal, I did end up cheesing it with Pause.

Its crazy that I've done it all and still want more. This game is living in my brain. I loved it top to bottom. I might go back and finish out the Assess log.

Did this game not have any geographically unique boss fights? I don't mean aesthetically, but like actual off arena layouts, obstacles, etc. Remake had a bunch of them, but here's it's just Dyne, right? And his is real basic.

FF16 VA was way too GOT for me. Everyone's so stuffy, serious, and only emote during battle. This is WAY more fun.

Also it could just be me, but I'm seeing a lot more FFX connections in this game. The fact that Aerith LITERALLY did the Yuna sending dancing with the lifestream (Aka the souls of the dead) and the fact that the one SOLDIER who Cloud skewered turned into a fiend after not being sent properly to the lifestream.

Everyone lives would be bad. Especially considering how powerful the Trials were. After going through that segment I realized they definitely have not forgotten the theme of death and loss. Aerith's trial had me bawling.

I think the implication is that no matter what version of Aerith that exists, Sephiroth will always hunt her down and kill her and Zack/Cloud can do nothing about it regardless how much they want to.

Final thoughts: 9.95/10. Wow. Blown away at the effort and detail in this game. Final boss gauntlet was INCREDIBLE.

I loved all the Zack stuff, seeing my boy back again I was terrified of at first but I loved his inclusion here.

Reunion being rebranded in a way to mean the unification of all realities was pretty sweet too. I was skeptical on the whole idea but I'm on board now and very excited for part 3 and any DLC before then.

I cannot STAND Paw Patrol Red XIII. What a blemish on an otherwise unforgettable experience top to bottom.

I also skipped all side quests. Like every single one. Not a single side quest completed. So I know I missed a lot, but I wanted to keep the pacing going and to digest the story as fast as possible before the internet got to me. I'll be doing NG+ Hard Mode and full clearing it all though. Cause the CREDITS HAD SPOILERS IN IT. Gilgamesh?! Okay, gotta go find him.

All things considered, I'm no longer scared of what comes with part 3 cause this team clearly knows what they're doing when it comes to making a satisfying game and experience for FF7 fans.

Also for the record I never, not ever, felt underpowered or underprepared for any story fight in the game. So don't ever think you NEED to side quest for fear of not being strong enough.

The final dungeon alone is like 4-5 hours.

I'd say probably about 18-20 hours left if you treat it like I did and just run straight to every Blue story marker.

Just finished the game. Skipped every single side quest, did literally nothing. 43 hours clocked.

One of the greatest games ever made. I have a lot to digest.

Does it have all the same artists and animators?

It's less so the animation quality and more the heart and soul of it all. If this is just churned out by Disney by a team with little passion just to cash in on 90s nostalgia, it's going to show. Especially if they don't hire real artists and animators. I'd love to be proven wrong, but on first glance this feels REALLY cheap.
