Thats the part youre not getting. Up until the moment in the video, the man WASNT attacking him with the hammer. He used the hammer to break the glass door in order to get into the house.

Youre acting like the man was chasing Paul around the house, swinging the hammer at him. Thats not what was happening UNTIL the police arrived and you see what what was in the video.

If Paul Pelosis story is accurate, from the time between the man entering the house and the attack you see on the body cam, there was NO physical altercation.

You seem to be having a really hard time understanding that, or you are purposely being obtuse.

OK so they are sitting there waiting on "Nancy" to get home(the cops unbeknownst to the assailant) and dude is having a drink (because why not, I definitely would in that situation, if I'm being held hostage I'd want a drink).

Then the cops get there and he decides to grab the hammer. I just find it odd that he still kept his drink in his hand, which is all I'm saying.

But I guess you can't expect people to act normal when they are 80 years old and there is some crazy bastard holding you hostage with a hammer.

Thats the thing. He WASNT trying to fight off the attacker.

Read what I wrote in post 67. He was purposely staying calm as to not illicit an overreaction from his assailant. The man was there to do harm to Nancy, not him.

The information on the events of what happened that night/morning are out there. You either are purposely choosing to not believe it or flat out ignore it.

You're getting pedantic about some shit that doesn't even matter. He had the hammer in his right hand.

If I'm coming at you with a hammer, and you grab it with your hand, are you not fighting me off? I mean what terminology would be acceptable in this scenario?

If it is just a HD remake like the perfect dark for 360 I don't really care to play it that badly. Most 64 games aged piss poorly gameplay wise.

The actual remake game on the PS3 and 360 by Activision on the CoD engine is pretty good though.

Guns being available at a place like Sears was a failure to begin with yes and things would be even worse if that was never remedied.

It's still failing today though.

I just fail to see how you think guns are only a half century old, or that a shitload of people didn't have guns more than half a century ago, or maybe why you thought the same weapons weren't available to us half a century ago. Wait, I have an idea, maybe it is because people weren't shooting each other like crazy half a century ago.

But the laws were more lax on guns, and semi automatic rifles with large magazines DID exist back then, and gun ownership was at the same rate as it is now, so how could this be?

Well obviously it is the guns fault. /S

Its an unlawful search by the very premise; youre proposing that, in order to exercise one Constitutional right, people need to give up part of another. Its asinine, and its inherently unconstitutional.

The 4th amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures by the government, and its absolutely unreasonable to suggest that any gun owner is subject to inspections within the confines of their own homes.

It would never stand.

But, but, stationing British soldiers inside your residence wouldn't be unconstitutional if we codified it!!!

Think how bad it's gonna look in another 50 years unchecked?

Well I mean when you finally get lawmakers to get on board I fully expect you to get in the stack with Whoopi Goldberg when it is time to come take them./s

Also you said half a century of gun nuts getting what they wanted? You are aware that gun laws are more restrictive now than they were 50 years ago right? The biggest gun control act of all time (and still in place) happened in 1986, and from 1994-2003 it was even more restricted. I mean you used to be able to buy a machine gun at sears, and about 90 years ago they were cheap and commonplace.

I'm as progun as anyone here, if not more, and I think arming teachers is stupid.

That is what security officers are for.

That doesn't matter, statists are against increased armed security in schools AND the ability for teachers to arm themselves, at least until private ownership of guns is abolished.

If we had more armed guards and metal detectors in schools, these things wouldn't happen, so they'd have less justification to disarm the populace.

So who is the monster here? The people who want increased security in schools or the people who think these things should just keep happening until we decide that regular joes aren't to be trusted with guns anymore? Think about that for a second.

fuck off

guns are the reason that kids are in danger in school

You should quit blaming inanimate objects on the vile and cruel acts of your fellow human beings.

I'd bet money you're not against the government enforcing it's politics via the threat of guns but you're against any person's individual right to defend themselves with one.

Well unless you're an anarchist, but anarchists don't believe the state has power to decide who has guns and who doesn't.

So where does that leave you on the political spectrum? Who do you think should have guns, and who should not?

I believe that if someone is shooting you or at you then defending yourself with deadly force is appropriate no matter the age of the assailant.

I think this attempt at a gotcha is very disingenuous and also isn't accounting for the fact that the 6 year old child was a danger to other 6 year old students as well.

Also I think that the overwhelming majority of people who advocate for arming teachers also advocate for armed guards and metal detectors at entrances so that 6 year olds can't get into the building with a gun in the first place.

But a simple answer to your question, yes a teacher(or a cop, or a security guard) would be justified in shooting an active shooter, whether it be a 6 year old or not
