Yes, I've been in Merida (the safest city in Mexico and one of the safest cities in general in North and South America).
The key to enjoying Mexico is to make sure you are in an area and / or city where it is generally safe.
You do your research as you stay the fuck away from the shitty parts of Mexico. Stay the fuck away from Celaya. You know all the people getting the fuck out of Mexico to come to the U.S? At least 50% of them are running the fuck away from Celaya. Don't go near fucking Celaya. It was voted the most dangerous place on the planet during the year 2020 and for damn good reason. It's also kind of crazy how Mexico has one of the safest places on the planet (Merida) and one of the most fucked up and dangerous places on the planet(Celaya).
As for other places in Mexico, some places are better than others. Some places in Mexico are closer to the high quality of Merida where it's nice, safe in general, etc, while others are closer to the bullshit that is Celaya. Always a good idea to do research before traveling to a specific area.

If you go to Mexico, go to a nice and happy and safe place like Merida:

If police came while he was in his backyard smoking, that means someone saw him from afar smoking in his backyard and called the cops on him. VERY HIGH chance it was a neighbor somewhere close by. On a side note, cops need a warrant to enter and raid his house like that. IF they had a warrant, then that means they were tipped off in advance and might have supplied them with some type of evidence (someone most likely ratted him out a good while before cops finally got around to going after him. If that's the case, it could be anyone he knows who ratted him out, even though the chances of it being a neighbor (somewhere around where he lives) that was the rat are still significantly high. One of the reasons why it's NOT a good idea to smoke outside, even if it's your backyard, if you are in a state with stricter laws regarding weed). IF the cops didn't have a warrant, that might give his lawyer some "legal ammunition" to defend him. Cops have limits in regards to breaking into places and raiding them and it's strongly possible they may have illegally broken those limits. Hopefully he has enough money for a good lawyer (if he can only get a public defendant, his chances are much worse when the trial comes).

Oregon Trail was shown to 20 eighth graders in a classroom during December 1971. That's not an official release. Oregon Trail wasn't even sold in stores till years later. The very start of that list is extremely fucking wrong.

There are ZERO entries for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
It is an abomination to not have any entries for those years given the high quality games that have came out during the last four years.
Yes, that includes 2022 (Elden Ring should be on that list already for 2022 with at least two empty spots reserved for at least two more games from 2022 by the time the year ends).
There is seriously no excuse why 2019, 2020, and 2021 should be empty.
Overall, this is an extremely shitty list which is missing SEVERAL very notable games (as several others have already pointed out in this topic).
The fact that Xenoblade Chronicles, a highly acclaimed game that came out during 2010 in Japan (12 years ago in Japan, 10 years ago if we go by the 2012 North American release date) just appeared on this list during 2022 shows how much bullshit this list is.
In all my years of seeing lists for games, this is easily this biggest bullshit of a list I have ever seen.
Most times it's very easy to recognize a great game pretty fast (it doesn't take years).

There are SEVERAL major omissions from that list. I'm not going to go over all of them or else I'll be here all day... but one that is missing that stuck out to me was...
Turbografx-16's LEGENDARY AXE.
That game won several GAME OF THE YEAR awards for 1989.
I'm aware that the game was missing from the Wii Virtual Console when they had a Turbografx-16 section and the more recent Turbografx-16 mini (it was due to legal reasons. The legal rights to Legendary Axe 1 and 2 are in "Legal Hell" between two or more entities) but it's still a "Game of the Year" winner by many for 1989. The original Legendary Axe should seriously be on that list.

The most glaring thing about that list is the errors.
Oregon Trail was NOT commercially released during 1971.
The guy who made it showed it to the 8th grade class of 20 kids he was student teaching in during December 3rd, 1971. It was NOT sold and it sure as hell wasn't distributed nationally during 1971. It wasn't till years later when it was released nationally and sold to people. To declare it the best game of 1971 is bullshit since if they are going to count a game that wasn't commercially released to the public (it was only shown to 20 people during 1971) then every other game that was still in it's early stages that was shown to some people but wasn't nationally released (Atari's Pong, Atari's Computer Space, the entire Magnavox Odyssey library, etc, etc, etc) should be counted in that 1971 slot.
TLDR: that 1971 slot is bullshit for several reasons.

1) Memory (that's a NEW action / thriller film with Liam Neeson. If you like his movies, then give it a chance. Just don't expect anything as good as Taken, but you might like it if you like Liam Neeson action / thriller films in general).

2) Catherine Called Birdy (um.... that's NOT an action film. LOL. Okay, so Amazon's search results aren't perfect. However, it's classified as a comedy AND adventure, so I guess there is some action in it?)

3) For the Greater Glory (modern western. Proceed with caution. There is a reason most people who like westerns prefer the older stuff. This is a genre where in general older films are better than the newer films (some exceptions apply). But give it a try anyway if you are willing to experiment).

4) State of Grace (a neo-noir crime film with Sean Penn as an undercover cop, infiltrating the Irish Mafia in New York's Hell's Kitchen led by Ed Harris and Gary Oldman. Maybe worth a look if that sounds interesting to you?)

5) Man on Fire (this is an EXCELLENT film starring Denzel Washington, Christopher Walken and Dakota Fanning. STRONGLY recommend this film. It's a GREAT film. However, I'm willing to bet you have already seen it. If not, watch it immediately).
