I like many aspects of Japanese culture but this aspect of it is irredeemably misogynistic. It's not good behavior to have affairs but to publically shame and hurt people's careers for it is abhorrent unless it's someone like a politician or religious figure who uses their influence to punish others for similar actions.

Sakurai has been married to a former voice actress for nearly 20 years, which was not disclosed to the public until September 2022 after he acknowledged a report published by Shukan Bunshun.[9][10] On October 26, 2022, Shukan Bunshun reported that Sakurai had been having an extramarital affair with a writer from his radio show, P.S. Genki Desu: Takahiro, which began in October 2013 and had been terminated suddenly on October 24, 2022, without any explanation of reasons given.[11][12] The two had been in a relationship for 10 years, with them intending to marry; however, the writer had allegedly not been aware of Sakurai's marital status until September 2022.[12] On November 3, 2022, the chief of Second Shot, the company behind Sakurai's radio show, apologized to the listeners, who were upset from Sakurai and the writer dating and having to listen to them on the radio show.[13] In the same announcement, they cancelled preorders for a product originally set to be released in November 2022.[14]

Shkan Bunshun reported that Suzuki was engaged to LiSA in May 2019.[3] In January 2020, the two publicly revealed their relationship and announced they had married.[4][5] On April 25, 2023, his wife LiSA announced the birth of their first child on an Instagram post.[6][7][8]
On August 4, 2021, Suzuki went on hiatus due to poor health issues, following a report published on July 30 by Shkan Bunshun alleging that he was involved in an extramarital affair with a female work associate.[9] The same report also alleged that Suzuki had possibly violated non-disclosure agreements during the affair regarding music he and Oldcodex had been working on for other anime series. On August 30, 2021, Suzuki released a statement apologizing for his "careless behavior."[10] As a result of the hiatus, he withdrew from Ultraman.[11] He was also recast in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger,[12] the CD bonuses of the game adaptation of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!,[13] Pokmon Journeys: The Series,[14] Alchemy Stars,[15] The Misfit of Demon King Academy,[16] and Tokyo Revengers.[17]
