Did I? Other posts first hypothesized that the person who now owns the property might be sick. My response was to say that they might own multiple properties. How else are you supposed to defend against a proposition that someone has no proof of? We can't deal in what ifs but if you want to go down that line I can think of myriad of reasons why this person might be the opposite of struggling. I was defending squatters generally not this specific instance.

And I specifically pointed out that while the situation is crappy for this person, they are going to be ok and that you should turn your ire more towards slow ass bureaucracy because the simple fact is, these laws exist to protect people more then to help abusers.

Prove it.

How do you prove a negative? That's not how burden of proof works.
