It must suck for the people who have to drive while the eclipse is in progress and their reason for driving is unrelated to the eclipse. Such as driving to work or coming home from work. Those people might accidentally catch a glimpse of the sun with unprotected eyes if the sun happened to enter their field of view while driving.

It's not like it's some kind of eldritch abomination that will blind you as soon as you look at it. People who damage their eyesight during eclipses do so because they think that because it's not as bright, it's not as dangerous, so it's okay to just stare at it for minutes on end. If I were driving, I'd just be annoyed that the roads will all be jam-packed with people viewing the eclipse.
