Portugal has been taken over by fascist chuds I mean it was literally fascist until the 70s. For some reason everyone forgets it was still a fascist dictatorship like Spain post WWII and the West just let it join NATO anyway because it wasn't that bad... Until it was and cracked down on it's colonies so bad they all ended up going to the Soviets for help achieving independence.
