Always feels wrong in a game when the best in slot gear is a much lower level than the max you can equip. As a quick off the top of my head example, the Haubergeon body armor in FFXI. Level 59 gear for your DD who was at 75. Think there was 1 or 2 pieces that were better depending on your class but those were extremely rare and took a linkshell to obtain. Wasn't until the level cap raise when there was a lvl 78 piece that finally surpassed it.
