I've always felt that Cao Cao probably wasn't as evil as the book tries to portray him. Also Liu Bei isn't innocent. He throws baby Liu Chan on the ground after Zhao Yu or Zhao Yun (I forget which is which. I'm thinking of the Shu general with a spear) rescues the baby. But his dad cares more about his general almost dying and takes out his anger on Liu Chan.
