I don't quite think that one is on Coogler or Marvel, given Chadwick Boseman literally died of cancer in 2020. Like....seriously? And Dr. Strange was a mess behind the scenes Doctor strange wasn't anymore a mess than ant man 1 was. Once rami came out they got it done pretty smoothly, but it was announced from the start to release in 2021. Obviously the pandemic pushed it back but thats still 5 years. Black panther 2 was slated to release in 2022 before Boseman even died. It was going to be around 5 years regardless. The shooting was scheduled for 2021. They were taking their time. And adaptation of comic books aren't? How many people in the US do you think had heard of Mulan before the Disney film? I've heard among Asian people its as ubiquitous as American folk tales so I can't really speak on that. Fair. Could say the same about film. I dont think so. I know so. Comics are a high art that allows for a wide swath of genre and opportunities. Theres been high class, awaed winning comics for the entire existence of the medium down to this very day. Are you citing me Netflix shows? They literally exist because Marvel didn't want to do dark films after they were pitched Ok? They put them out. They have never been against putting out dark and adult material but they've always had a strategy to do so while maintaining brand consistency.
