good luck, though. I thought DoD was safer than the rest but im probably getting terminated by Elon and his broccoli hair team despite top-notch permanence reviews in the last 2.5 years Ive worked for them
Im hoping youll be okay, without getting to much job info from you. Im sure youve seen all the horseshit in the news about people being terminated for under performance despite having great reviews. Thats what were worried about in my agency.

I wouldn't be so sure it's an accident. Destabilizing government services is the goal, as much as the pretense is "reducing waste." Musk and the wannabe oligarchs he represents want government services to fall apart so the private sector can take over and control them in their absence. If they "accidentally" fire everybody that knows how to do some critical service, the agency falling apart after that is just going to be spun into "look how incompetent this agency was, why would we spend tax dollars keeping them afloat when they can't even handle a few layoffs?".

Everything about this is - as has been the GOP's MO since the Reagan days - to erode public faith in government and promote downloading services to the private sector to enrich corporations.
I understand your point. Its just that with some of these firings its one of those things that you assign to incompetency and not to maliciousness. But maybe Im not giving the administration enough credit, but hopefully youll understand why thats a difficult thing to do.
