| Topic | What is a board game you don't like? |
| captpackrat 11/08/25 7:00:18 PM #29: | The real problem with Trivial Pursuit is that the game ages. If you play a 1935 version of Monopoly, it's going to be pretty much the same as the modern version. The 1949 version of Clue/Cluedo is not much different from the current one. But the questions in a 1981 copy of Trivial Pursuit would all be in the history category for kids today. Many of the science and geography questions are just plain wrong now. "What is the largest country on Earth?" "What is the farthest planet from the Sun?" "What is the capital of Yugoslavia?" "What is the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany?" The other problem is that if you play it enough, you begin to memorize the answers, so the person who owns the game eventually gains an unfair advantage. --- Minutus cantorum, minutus balorum, Minutus carborata descendum pantorum. ...
