China has long moved away from their support for NK. To them, NK is just a money sink anyways. NK literally survives almost entirely from giveaways by China, UN, US, etc. I'm sure that was a bigger contribution to Trump making idiot decisions more than anything, considering NK hasn't done anything in a long while outside that funny assassination, and the probability of them actually starting the war themselves is extremely low.
