(First Reaction: I prefer the spookier and more unsettling songs from the series, but this is interesting. It's mostly moderately high-intensity "rahh, let's get hyped to shoot things & blow stuff up, woo!" action movie opening stuff--but then we have MYSTERIOUS PIANO OUTRO which feels like it was part of a different song that was just bolted onto the end of the first part. And both parts are pretty good! I largely enjoyed it.)

!Two good halves that seem unrelated, but go together well enough. Don't really have a preference for either of them either, which is interesting... usually I vastly prefer one segment, but both sides of this song are equally neat.

[Final Thoughts: Less into the main song than usual, but more into the brief piano outro so let's just say it evens out to the score it already had.]

[Final Thoughts: Definitely shouldn't have listened to the 22 minute long extended single version. That was just repetitive and mindless, dragging on as long as it possibly could for no reason other than to be long. Feel free to listen to it yourself, if you want, though I certainly don't recommend the experience:

Back on topic, I really don't feel like analyizing lyrics this serious at the moment. Nuclear war, communism, racism, poverty... I'm not saying I dislike serious songs, but I am saying that I can't really do justice to the subject matter and I'm at least self-aware enough to not make any of my usual jokes/random tangents on a writeup for a song like this. I'll say that it has a very catchy chorus, the verses cover a lot of topics, and it manages to be serious & direct without being completely overwhelming. I do have problems with songs that try to tackle serious issues while lacking any serious punch; Prince, for his part, doesn't seem to really shy away from any of the topics and actually makes the points he wants to make. I may not wish to discuss said points at a largely comedic ranking, but I respect him and the song.]
