| Topic | I'm just gonna stop watching the news for a while. |
| CableZL 10/02/17 3:38:30 PM #1: | Back in 2005, I learned that the news is essentially just negativity on the main portion of the screen, negativity scrolling across the bottom of the screen, and negativity scrolling up and down the sides of the screen. Also, that watching this continuously will put you in a negative mood. I'm at that point. Now, understandably, last night's horrific events are getting tons of coverage, but... I feel like the news on TV and the radio don't really *need* to replay the video/audio of the gunfire happening and people realizing what's going on and running away in fear over and over all day. I had stopped watching the news on TV completely for a long time and honestly felt like I was consistently in a better mood because of it. But on top of this feeling of helplessness and empathy for the victims, I'm just in a shitty mood. Can't seem to shake the sound of those gunshots. Can't imagine what it was like for people who were actually there. So, I'm just gonna do other things for a while. Might even stop going to Facebook and GameFAQs for a while because people can't seem to stop trying to politicize this tragedy as "liberals this" and "conservatives that." So yeah. That's where I'm at at the moment. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
