Undercharged? Probably not. If it scanned in cheaper or was a price mistake that I didn't cause, I have plausible deniability.

Put if this way: if you were overcharged (e.g. charged for a different, more expensive item) and only realized it when you got home, you'll probably have a tough time getting your money back. The "point of no return" should be applicable in both cases.

A lot of places also have what's called scanning ethics code, which states that if the listed price (like on the shelf) is MORE than the scanned price, you get the first item free up to a $10 value, and you get the rest of the (duplicate) items that you have in your cart at the lower price. I don't hesitate to take advantage of that as it's perfectly legit.
