I mean, when was the first time you were friends with a girl? Like really friends, with no expectation or want of sex?

It wasn't until college where I forged that kind of relationship with women, if I'm being completely honest. And I'd bet a lot of other's would have a similar experience to report.

Youd be correct, but theres still going to be the one contrarian who claims his best friends were all girls his age and that hes also straight.

How socially inept do you have to be to think that this is normal?

How socially inept do YOU have to be to think that it isnt normal for kids to grow up awkwardly with the opposite sex versus how they grow up with members of the same sex? As you mature you gain the social skills to put sex out of the equation. You and Fluffy are definitely the type to tell their kids that if a girl treats you poorly that means they like them. And thats the problem.

Awkwardness is due to sex and attraction coming into the equation. Of course this are difficult, but you guys are arguing that you didnt have any female friends where there was no expectation of sex until college. Why would those interaction be awkward? There is zero pressure when you dont really care how much they like you or not. Sorry but its not normal to not be able to interact with the opposite sex in any capacity.

Do you even have any kids? Because I do. Go watch how they interact with each other.
