Topic	Alien is not horror.
rogerskg1979 07/04/18 12:26:16 PM #10:	It's all about context. Alien may not be that scary by today's (i.e. 2018's) standards, but it was scary by 1979's standards when the movie first came out. It is just that there have been a lot of changes to the horror genre since 1979, so Alien doesn't seem as scary now as it did back then. Same thing with the classic horror monster movies like Dracula and Frankenstein from the 1930s.
