I skimmed his memo and listened to his interview on JRE. Even if his memo was 100% factually accurate, I think it still would have been received the same.

Im going to be real careful of what I say and I mean nothing offensive by this, but I believe that the guy has some sort of condition that has left him with very impaired social skills, and the memo shows a profound lack of self-awareness and extreme social ineptitude.

I think he meant well but the fact that he didnt understand how his article would have been interpreted or that it was a bad idea to distribute at work is kind of crazy to me. Plus I do recall feeling that a bunch of his points were kind of dumb and poorly worded but its been a while since I read it

He's on the spectrum, I mentioned that in the OP, he has what was known as Asperger's. And he didn't just write this memo of his own volition, they asked him for feedback after their hilariously ignorant diversity meeting so he did exactly what they asked him to.

This. Damore found a lot of sympathy on this board back when it happened and I'm not surprised given how certain people here present their arguments.

It's not enough to be "right", especially on a subject like this. You also have to be able to present carefully.

For what tho? To avoid public shaming and the ruining of your life? Cuz that's what happened to this guy, all for doing exactly what he was asked to do. That's obviously way too extreme for whatever "mistakes" he made. Plus like I said, everyone ignores how he was the only one actually presenting practical solutions to the gender diversity issue. And somehow he's shunned as misogynist.
