I feel you bring up a good point and am glad Lord of the Rings Online has a filter options that lets you block certain audio sounds. I play a minstrel and certain attack with our instrument became a nuisance to keep hearing. That being said, I feel majority of the time the repetitive sound effects are usually subtle enough that I wouldn't notice it and/or something else in the gameplay at the time of the sound effects grabs my attention instead. --- "You must gather your party before venturing forth" "Go for the eyes Boo!
