My friends were between $250k to $500k in loan debt (most had low 300s) Its impossible to have a job during medical school, and my assistant dean of student affairs highly, highly discouraged working. Medical school is your job. No one in my class worked because of the commitment. Residency pays $50k to $70k depending on the specialty and location. So just take loans out for living expenses?
