One of my vehicles was $600 about 4 years ago. Other than maintenance, I put very little into it. I redid the bushings in the suspension and a few other non-maintenance things, though. I put on well over 100k KM in this vehicle (my work vehicle) and it is sitting at around 350k KM.

Nothing wrong with cheap vehicles if you can work on them yourself. Even if the engine or transmission go I can have one for $300 and put it in myself within a weekend.


Yeah, but for the rest of us who aren't part time mechanics, the stress isn't worth it.

If you have some tools, time, and Youtube, then that's all you need.
